how does the gift card process work. does someone have to transfer them to you via amazon? or do they just send you the code and you redeem it?

They send the code and you redeem it. Not sure if Amazon takes it back from your account later if the codes are carded, but probably.

yeah that would be important to know. and what is to keep amazon from thinking I am the one that carded it?

If you redeem the code and it later ends up being fraud, they'll take the credit back.  So essentially, you have to spend the credit.  I dont know what would happen if you ordered goods and the codes used end up being fraud.  I don't know if they come back to you requesting reimbursement or not, but I'd personally rather not find out.

Yes, they do take out the balance and ask for their money if you spent them. Shit. I'll never buy Amazon Gift cards anymore.

Fraud.
Amazon.com will have the right to close customer accounts and bill alternative forms of payment if a fraudulently obtained Gift Card is redeemed and/or used to make purchases on amazon.com or any of its affiliated websites set forth above.

The codes are carded son, prepared to have the popo at your door if you purchase them as well as a negative balance:

POPO:
A Police officer. especially the ones that rides on bikes.

Orgin: California late 80's

police officers that patrols certain beaches on bikes wore a vest that said PO in huge blockletters on each of their chest. which means Police Officer. they usually ride around in group of two's.

when you see them coming by. you see the word "PO" "PO" when they stand next to each other.
Man.. here comes the PoPo to tell us what to do again.
buy popo mugs & shirts

I should probably mention, if you receive stolen merchandise, the police can legally take it from you, but you will not be prosecuted if there is evidence that you had no knowledge, not the slightest feeling that it could have been stolen. But! If there is even the slightest doubt that you knew that you were buying or possibly buying stolen goods, you can be prosecuted.

A friend of mine bought a stolen skateboard (this was quite a few years ago) and the police showed up and just took it from him, but he was not charged for anything. But, I have known some people who had thought they may have been buying stolen goods, but because they knew there was a chance it was stolen, they were charged. Not harshly, but still charged.

TLDR: because this thread exists warning everyone that more than likely the $ is stolen, you will get prosecuted for purchasing stolen goods should you decide to buy them, and they are indeed stolen.

Iv seen them go at 80% value before, but I have pretty good luck selling for 93-95% when I do sell them. Sometimes things are just too good to be true, but then again, sometimes people are just desperate. Although, I would say, this is not a safe buy.

You are not being a dick. What you ARE being is much much nicer than the past. I appreciate that.
If they want their transactions out in the open, they would post. Go and ask them from back and March and ask are their transactions good.
I dont require any validation from anyone.

how does one get 20 - $100 gift codes

and why sell them all for less than face value?

According to Jake (paraphrased):

Quote
There is a guy on ICQ who comes on only once in a while and there is a very short window where he is selling these codes in the thousands. Because he sells them at a huge discount (Like 50% of face value) they are always gone almost immediately after he logs in, so we have to sit and wait for him to get on before we can buy any.

Take it for what it's worth. Maybe the company gives them out for special reasons and these guys just capitalize on it. It's more likely though that they're all stolen and the only reason that some make it through is because some people aren't diligent with reporting fraud. (I'm not sure if I'd report $10 missing on my personal credit card for example, because I spend so much everyday doing what I do I wouldn't even notice. Business card however...).

Haha, sometimes this forum community brings some epic entertainment. My guess is people are hoping the code will function if they use it quickly enough. Now to wait and see if someone complains about bad Amazon codes they bought from someone with a scammer tag.

Haha, sometimes this forum community brings some epic entertainment. My guess is people are hoping the code will function if they use it quickly enough. Now to wait and see if someone complains about bad Amazon codes they bought from someone with a scammer tag.

Internet equivalent of buying things from the back of a van.
Ha ha. You wish!

Folks, this is one of the most dangerous scammers the forum has seen. Do NOT take that scammer tag lightly. You WILL get charged criminally if you accept the codes, and that's assuming that you're lucky enough to get them in the first place.

If you have already accepted codes, do not spend them. Contact Amazon immediately about your mistake.

If you've already bought something, contact Amazon immediately and inform them that they can charge another payment method for the item.

The codes are worthless.

Maged, serious question--

Why do we allow cards to be sold on this forum? Is there ever a situation where the cards aren't/can't be stolen?

I've used spendbitcoins probably 4-5 times and they always come through, always have good prices, never a single issue. sometimes i even get some extra money.

I've been following this thread just for the entertainment value. I like how he stops posting after the mod calls him out...

"the"? lol, just kidding you.

There are limited examples of legitimate sellers, but they are few and far between.

As other people have mentioned, trusted people can provide perfectly clean codes. It is not the forum's job to determine who is "trusted". We would also have to apply this rule to PayPal as well, since it has the same risks.

Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

And not a single person here can confirm that they bought from you this round. Nice try to inflate your reputation, but until I see proof of sale, I'm inclined to agree with Maged.

Did anyone actually buy a code?  I suspect he just made it up trying to fish a sucker.

He seems to think that he looks LESS SUSPICIOUS if he's selling thousands of dollars worth of gift cards.  ::)

You do realize, even if you are selling the millions of dollars worth of GC like you say (even though nobody has vouched for you yet), the whole thing looks a million times more suspicious and scammy?

Well, one reaction a deceptive individual can have to being caught is to crank up the con meter to over 9000.
