Just some fake news from a satire site and all the Russophobes are jumping up and down. Nice. Just shows the average IQ level of these people. I have checked the official Duma website and there is no mention about anything even remotely close.

Who stands to benefit? Many common Russian people hoard the USDollar. So do the Russian wealthy. If it is only a ban at the banks, people will simply keep dollars in a place safer than under their mattress. It will prop up the value of the dollar in Russia a little. But if the ban goes into holding and owning dollars in any form in Russia, the whole thing might prop up the value of the dollar in the whole world.

The question is, with Russia starting to trade natural gas to China for something other than the dollar, will the dollar even last the year that is given for people to stop using it at the banks?

A second question is, will the UN and supporting nations allow Russia to stop using the dollar? Russia is quite strong. A UN "police action" against Russia could be costly. Russia would lose in the long run, but it would harm the little people the most, although it might prop up world trade for those who were left. And if it goes to nukes, the whole world might die.

I see this as being a ploy instigated covertly by the United States, or States sympathizers.

:)

More likely Russia will bring back capital controls to stop the free fall of the rouble
The lower oil price is screwing them in a big way

The low oil price must be hurting big time coupled with the capital flight currently going on
Desperate times call for desperate measures

Well it was to be expected, with this move obviously the usa wanted to give a intimidatory message to their financial enemies and seems right this round sorted the effect they wanted, now Russia is almost cutted out from the markets. We'll see were we go from here, but I suspect an alliance with China is the next step they are gonna take.
