Will the code for this be immediately open sourced? If it is what's to stop all the shit coins immediately copying it?

Good luck cutting and pasting 1150 Masternodes.  ;D

(The tx locking is done via Masternodes.)

Instant transaction is marketing bullshit.

The DRK dev himself said this week the transactions will take 15 seconds.

That's a test environment, nothing like the real environment.

15 seconds is less time than it takes to swipe a visa card and enter your pin and wait for confirmation...

Show me any other crypto that has this capability implemented and working?

You are so obtuse you dont even realise how much potential and a game changer this is in the crypto world....

Now go back and play in your piss riddled sandbox you child.

BitShares at no.4 has 10 second transactions already working for a few months now.

He's an XC fanboy. Worried about his investment most likely. Edit: Just checked XC for the first time in a while. Nice job mr_random, Dan is enjoying your money thoroughly :)

That was just funny.

DRK is one of the few coins which got someone real after the whitepapers, and because of it darknet markets decided to support DRK.

Dark has always been marketing bullshit ever since they claimed to be the first anon coin even though Fedora/TIPS beat Darksend v1 to the punch for basic coin mixing by months lol.

But unfortunately sometimes those with the greatest spin win in the end.

Btw Mazacoin had less than a few second confirms too. But oh right, it was a "scam" lol

I'm glad cryptos are heading in this direction, it will be great for the future. But this isn't groundbreaking tech, Bitshares has this already...

DRK is such vapourware.

Wait, what?

X11 - 11 different hashing algorithm's (Inventor)
DGW - Dark Gravity Wave Fixes KGW time warp exploit(Edit) (Inventor)
Masternodes - Decentralized mixing (Inventor)
Darksend+ - Cash (Inventor)
Spork - Soft forks, allow Darkcoin to fork the network without causing random forks. (Inventor)

Soon to be added...

Instantx - Which is being called vaporware...
I'm sorry but the successful implementation of all the above lead me to think you are, full of shite.

What you received, was a message that transaction has happened. But your transaction wasn't confirmed in 1 seconds. It will get its first confirmation after the next block has been mined. And to be considered fully confirmed, it requires 6 confirmations (6 blocks to be mined). Zetacoin's block target is 30 seconds, so it will take on average 6 * 30 seconds = 3 minutes to confirm your transaction.

Whereas the Darkcoin's InstantTX system does not rely on the mining of the blocks for its confirmations. So it really is transacted and confirmed within seconds.

DGW is an improvement on KGW invented by Dr. Kimoto Chan for Megacoin which fixes the time warp exploit I believe.

This "Instant" stuff is pure marketing bullshit. It's not instant at all. It will take 20 to 30 seconds to reach confirmation:

This is a quote from the DRK dev:

2 seconds was in a very small local environment! It should be 20-30 seconds in production, 10 if we're lucky.

You guys make it sound like you will be able to safely accept payment within 2 seconds. No. It will be 30 seconds.

Stop the bullshit.
