Post by: rebeccaleehi on November 09, 2014, 01:46:36 AM
My major is International finance in the university. I’m writing my dissertation which discusses Bitcoin with Herd Effect. I am sincerely looking for participates to do my questionnaire. The questionnaire will takes you less than 10 minutes.

It will be a great deal of help for me. Thank you.

Some of the questions are unclear or don't make sense.

Q3 - what is a "financial instrument"? Does a CD (certificate of deposit) count? Because just about everyone who has savings in a bank has one of those. This would impact Q4 as well.

Q7 - what is a "transaction"? Does getting some satoshis from a faucet count? If you mean "have you ever bought Bitcoins", just say so.

Q10 - what do you mean by "follow"? "Follow a suggestion" has one meaning (i.e., do what you are told) while "follow the news" has a completely different one.

Q11 - the offered choices are insufficient. For instance, my answer is that Bitcoin will evolve into something else. It will neither disappear, nor remain as it is.

I tried to do it, but I'm allergic to poorly prepared questionnaires. You don't provide comprehensive options for answers (+ some grammar and spelling errors).
I'm simply unable to provide honest answers to half of your questions.

Agreed. "9. Is it possible that you buy Bitcoin only because other investors buy Bitocin or news supports Bitcoin. " is too complicated (and vague) a question for a binary answer, for example.

Did you notice the typo?  :)

I don't really care whether investors buy this:

Seriously, there's something wrong with almost every question. Even with the age question, some will say that it should go: "18-25  26-35" rather than "18-25  25-35".

Or "6. Are you the owner of Bitcoin wallet?" - does the online wallet count? I don't really own it, but I have access to it and control over it.

@OP (rebeccaleehi) - I'm not saying all this to be rude. If you want me/others to elaborate on why those questions are poor, or if you need any help in re-designing the questionnaire, let us know.

Technically a check is a 'financial instrument', the questions are terribly written.

When using financial terms, tell us what you mean by them. That'll help.

Is your assessment in English or your native language?

My assessment is English. It is ok. I already ask my friend who is a native speaker to correct my questionnaire face to face. He will help me to make the questionnaire more formal. I really thanks for you guys suggestions, it really helps me.
