Title: turtlehurricane - ripped me for $1000 ---> RESOLVED <---
Post by: segvec on November 10, 2014, 10:41:24 PM
What happened:: He redeemed two moneypaks (2) $500 codes via one of his "sources". The two payments were put on "review". He wants me to wait. As soon as I give him the moneypak codes and he redeems them successfully, it is no longer my problem...my Bitcoin should be in my wallet now. Instead of delivering, he is being a "Jew", literally and withholding my Bitcoin for no logical reason. He is playing with my money and tampering with my emotions. I have been moving $5,000 moneypak through him daily, netting him $500+ in profits daily. Not to mention, I am his best customer...well, was. I am no longer doing business with this bottom feeder. It is also important to mention the fact that he thinks he runs bitcointalk and boasts of falsified figures in order to make him seem trusted. Truth is, he is now going back to making what he did prior to meeting me, a measly $50 per day as opposed to $500+ from me (a single client). I am not sure why people scam at all anymore now a days when there are many opportunities to make cash. He has been making a considerable amount of money and has now just pissed it down the drain thanks to him running out of proper resources. I am asking for my $900 worth of bitcoin at bitstamp rates. (he received $1000 from me, minus his 10% fee and he owes me $900 worth of coin)

Additional Notes: Turtle started off legit but turned out to be a fraud today when he ripped me for the small figure of $1000 USD. I just want my coin and I shall be on my way. I recommend no one to deal with him until this is resolved as he is destined to start a scamming spree now that his rep is tarnished.
Thanks for your support.

UPDATE:
He informed me I will not be receiving any of my funds back.
Did he say why he is not going to be giving you your money (do you have any PM logs of him saying this)? It sounds like you have done a lot of business with him and it makes little sense to me that he would all of a sudden scam like this.

He was making 500usd a day from just you every day and he ripped off 900usd?

Doesn't make much sense.....

Seems like Paypal froze his funds and he wants to hold your funds because of his problem. Unfortunate situation. Hope things get resolved.

He does some selling on reddit. He had a complex on there too, where he thought he was a big dog.

He removed the trust he left you. He claimed to sell you 100 BTC and you were the most legit guy on bitcointalk or something like that. If this was the case, why would he not trust you and release $1000 in BTC after paypal froze his account, which would not be your fault unless the moneypaks were not legit?

Could he be acting as a man in the middle and needs access to those funds to buy the BTC?

I have his first and last name and his number from a WU transfer if that helps. But I doubt they are real.

That really sucks sorry to hear that! I did a deal with turtlehurricane last night for (2) gdmps worth $250 combined. We did receive the Bitcoins eventually, but we were worried at first because his phone went dead after he cashed the gdmps before we received the btc.

I hope it turns out to be a misunderstanding and you get your coins back.

He is just stalling...I know my funds are long gone...

I dealt with him before and sometimes I waited overnight before I received my coins. I gotta say that he charged you 10+% for the risks that come along with the moneypak, so when shit happens he should take the responsibility and release the coins.

Yes, I make calculated risks.
He moved a large figure for me the past two weeks; never took him for a scammer.

...he exhausted his resources though so scammed me for what he could get...as you all can see, he tried for another $500 but I got to it before he could as I had the gut feeling he ran out of resources...making him useless.

Why would you trust someone named turtlehurricane with $1000 anyway haha?

Segvec refused to give me receipts showing that these were paid with cash. I would've released Bitcoins if he did so. It smells fraudulent. Not to mention he threatened to reverse the full $50k of business we did multiple times.

Whether he showed you receipts proving he paid you with cash or not sure didn't stop you from redeeming the codes, no?

And I've removed my negative rating on turtlehurricane since this seems more like a customer service issue than a scam. TH has a consistent history of trades, and segvec has a consistent history of questionable dealings.

Segvec, you can wait for funds to clear. Your HURRY HURRY SEND COINS NAO! doesn't really paint a very legitimate picture for you.

I feel scam accusations should be used as a last resort. Once a thread is posted, it ruins the reputation permanently.
