After i got duped by one new exchange, i have been weary of new exchanges until when they have stay around for at least 6 months.

They served the Indonesian traders for at least a year and now opening the global market for Alts. I've met funchiestz (Oscar Darmawan) and Bitcoin.co.id is a registered company in Indonesia. ;)

But Stellar would be a great idea, though. I hope you guys will consider adding Stellar into your trade exchange ;D

Agreed, it would be better to add Darkcoin and Stellar... Both are underrated, but understand why there's a mad rush to get paycoin up, the price is pretty high right now due to GAW pumping it.

it's simply because the price isn't decided by supply and demand. It is decided by peershares and fixed to US dollars.

price will vary sideways for now i guess since chinese is having their new year so less volume till next week i guess

I certainly hope so. I think it was in the middle of October 2014 when those Chinese buyers drove the price up from around $325 to more than $400 within a day. Hope that day would come soon  ;D

that time was crazy! I managed to sell the Bitcoin i bought at around $300 for $400 each, but then I bought some too when the price was like $350 and now it's down to $280. Talk about a roller coaster ride  :D

yeah, and there are more members in the site now. I think bitcoin.co.id gains about 100 members/day? most of these indonesian bitcoiners are just bitcoin traders though, not users. They don't use bitcoin to shop, they just trade it to gain profit.

That's right, bitcoins are not an alternative currency. They are something you buy in the midst of a mania, and you will sell at some point in order to get back your money.

it is trading volume, so if someone buy 20 btc and sell 20 btc, volume will be 40 btc so it is not a big deal, 600/24 hours is a tiny baby comparing to the other established exchanger, but still the meat is raw, this exchanger is still fairly new

yes, but in order to gain mass adoption, there needs to be more bitcoin users than traders. Most people won't want to change their fiat money to bitcoin if the price fluctuates a lot like this... Well, I'm not one to talk though, considering I also trade it for proft, but I do use it to do some online shopping from time to time

I think it's better to think Bitcoin as a technology that can help people send money better and to avoid unnecessary fees. But as a currency, I agree that it will be fairly impossible for it to become one, or at least won't be happening anytime soon...

it's surely going to take some time and we need to wait for government's regulations, but I think it's not impossible if there are more people using Bitcoin as real money and not just like speculating in it

I used Bitcoin once to buy a movie ticket and shirts online, but I've never went to an actual shop in person and then paid the bill with bitcoin. It's still a bit hard to find places that accept payment in bitcoin

in Indonesia, Bitcoin is treated like a digital commodity where it's legal to be traded, bought, and sold. The only legal currency is rupiah so we can't use bitcoin as a currency, same thing with US Dollar here in indonesia

those fees are just pure extortion! your site will not last very long!

well imo if they're giving out 0% trading fee for all alt coin trading platforms, they gotta make some money one way or another, right? So maybe they cost you a little bit more when you withdraw your coins to your wallet, but that's still cheaper rather than being charged 0,2-0,3% everytime you trade. But you're free to have your own opinion just don't be rude  :)

they're probably still using KYC for bitcoin-rupiah trade. But for alt coins, it's not necessary to do it.

KYC is short for Know Your Customer. To put it simply, it's the process of a business verifying the identity of its clients. When you first registered to Bitcoin.co.id a month ago for example, you had to fill in some informations such as identity card or passport numbers, your name, address, etc. But now, you only need to fill in your username, email, password, and phone number for sms verification to protect your account. No need to give out personal details  ;D

you're right, they still want to know your identity when you do transactions to IDR but at least now international customers can trade alt coins easily

yes, that's because when it's involving IDR, they still need to obey the regulations from the government.

do most countries have that kind of regulations? I know in Australia you gotta get your retina scanned just to cash out bitcoin, but I only thought that it was because Australia has a firm regulation over cryptocurrency.

Are you have been contact support about your issue? I personally never have an issue with this exchange, they support is fast response, you can contact them through email, fb, or even make a call.
