Title: People Selling CRT Televisions on Craigslist Post by: riiiiising on November 11, 2014, 10:36:03 PM Just a seasonal issue here to get off my chest...
Here in the US, black Friday is approaching, so naturally lots of people are on Craigslist to sell their old TVs to make room for a new one. Have you seen this? I'm browsing through lots of ads from people trying to sell their 200 pound, standard def, tubes for $50 or more. They'll even throw in the matching early '90s wood armoire for free! :o :D :D :D :D So my question to any of these people is: do you really think we're all that stupid? Two points you need to be aware of...
If I had a CRT lying around my place, which I don't, I would literally pay someone $10 to take it away for me. I guess these are the same people who hold yard sales and label their old VHS tapes for $3 a piece and $400 for their old, pet stained sofa (hey, it was $600 brand new 10 years ago!) You've got a point there, which is why I haven't played Duck Hunt in a long, long time... This is the one and only reason I could ever justify having a CRT in 2014 ;D Title: Re: People Selling CRT Televisions on Craigslist Post by: Vod on November 11, 2014, 10:42:02 PM I'd use one in my garage. Would keep the place warmer. It was -25 here last night!

Uhhh... a couple of CRT and other electronic using iron-core transformers should help! Maybe the .01% are restoring classic Asteroids & Pac-Man games.
Title: Re: People Selling CRT Televisions on Craigslist Post by: Omikifuse on November 11, 2014, 11:34:35 PM It is for the sake of nostalgia and maybe to make some old time scenarios for TV and movies.
But $50 for one is expensive indeed Title: Re: People Selling CRT Televisions on Craigslist Post by: Decio on November 11, 2014, 11:55:18 PM I still have the Atari game console with the Game River Raid.
..And yes Atari is better than PS3. Title: Re: People Selling CRT Televisions on Craigslist Post by: TookDk on November 12, 2014, 12:00:39 AM ..And yes Atari is better than PS3. Without any doubt. Title: Re: People Selling CRT Televisions on Craigslist Post by: cooldgamer on November 12, 2014, 12:05:37 AM If you want a extra TV and don't have the cash for a newer one I could see maybe paying 10 bucks for it, anything over that is just crazy.
