$3 billion hedge fund company starts investing in Bitcoin via OKCoin.

It's like getting a taste of what the ETF will do.

the crackdown of dark net make ppl have more faith in the potential of bitcoin. So the ETF and hedge fund company choose this right time to go into bitcoin.

Their CEO had made it clear that there was not such thing of $3 billion hedge fund investing in Bitcoin via OKCoin, so i think this is not the reason.
perhaps more and more ppl believe in BTC.

Bitcoin has remained so low for so long, it's about time some major investors realising this is the bottom.

Regardless of whether it is or isn't true it obviously doesn't matter so long as people believe the hype real or not which obviously can effect the price.

Well I found out this morning, that 5 Trillion a day pumps through the Forex markets, 1% of that would send BTC insane.

C'mon guys... look at the charts. the answer is right in front of you.
Its Bitfinex shorts, the attempt at everyone trying to close their position all at once... only way to close your SHORT position is to BUY BTC. The price is even $10 higher on bitfinex than bitstamp (look at bitfinex volume yesterday - 103,859 BTC - vs 44,040 on bitstamp)

Standard stuff, you see this happen from time to time when heavy hitters short a stock only to later feel the pain when the company delivers twice the expected profit and the stock starts going higher. You gotta buy dem shares back timmy.

I'm not sure why this would be considered not true unless the CTO of OKCoin is lying.

The great thing about this is it's probably the first of many big investors. I';m sure there will be many more  during the course of next year.

Why do you think that?
Why would a public figure like Zane Tackett, Manager of International Operations at OKCoin, make a public statement to that effect if it was so easily seen to be a lie?
He might have exaggerated the extent to which they intend to be involved, but I doubt if it's an outright lie.

Because I wanted the coin value to rise, and so it was done.

Price goes up, price comes down; you can't explain that.

The only "lie" was that it was not $3 billion but 3 billion EUROS which is about $3.75 billion.  Before throwing around statements like he is "lie" get your facts right.

I believe there's many factors at play here, but I believe adoption is the main reason.

if am not wrong in china purchase of BTC increased sharply and positive sentiment in that country

all cause of okCoin imo. It really breathed some life back into the scene, hopefully this news will spur some more volume

Because this is BTC we talking about! Its volatile; this will keep happening!

The party is over guys, stop denying the inevitable. BTC as we know it is still in downtrend and will probably be less than $200 by the end of this year. I hope I'm wrong though.

Price rises when demand rises as it is for all products or things in this world. SIMPLE  ;)
