Title: Downloadable mining
Post by: bitcoiner1000 on November 15, 2014, 01:51:54 AM
So signature campaigns wont help me earn btc unless i'm a higher member so what about mining? Are there any miners that can be downloaded?

For BTC it is impossible and requires specific designed ASIC miner hardware. It's POW, distinguished from POS altcoins. You just download the wallet and have some amount of coins in that wallet, which is automatically producing interests also coins after specific time period.

There are downloadable softwares for mining but I don't think you won't be able to get some profit from it if you choose btc to mine. The difficulty is high and low-end miners can't keep up with that. Only mining hardware sellers profit from mining, I think, and some big companies of mining.

Yes, in order to mine you would download software that "does" the mining for you. This software however is limited by the hardware it runs on. Sadly the times of CPU or GPU mining are over unless you have a lucky hand and mine the next dogecoin early on. Its not that CPUs or GPUs are slow, its just that ASICs or on another level. They are more energy efficient and blazingly fast. You can get a Gh/s on a cloudmining service for about 50 cents. According to this [1] (old!) list there is not a single GPU out there that is even capable of 1000Mh/s or a single Gh/s. A modern R9 series or top notch NVidia GPU might make a little more, but nowhere near what an ASIC for the same money could.

If you are in it for the money, dont mine unless you are willing to invest big time into ASICs and can hold the BTC. If you invest your last 10k into ASICs and have to sell right after the BTC come in to pay the electricity bill you will make no profit either.

you need hardware to be able to mine bitcoin or altcoin. (it's better not get into mining lol)

Well, you can download some mining program  like cgminer and so on but it is totally not profitable to mine. You need ASIC for some real mining and that is still not profitable..

Think you are looking for something like coingeneration or eobot.
But these programs using CPU and GPU for mining and you will earn 0.00nothing.

At the current difficult of BTC you only could earn if you start mining a new altcoin and keep it untill it worth it to sell. It' s long process and maybe not worth it. If you need any help how to setup a miner just ask. You could try FreeBitco.in (noreflink) (https://freebitco.in/) or FreeBitcoi.in (reflink) (http://freebitco.in/?r=64126) This site pays many.(both of the links are the same just the second is a reflink)

Yes, you can download a miner, cpu or gpu. but bitcoin mining isn't profitable now, better mine some altcoins and exhange them.

if you want to earn some btc you can sell your services in the service section or sell goods for btc. Alsi, if you can buy stuff from ebay or amazon, I'd recommend you brawker.com (http://brawker.com). You have a explanation vid on their site.

The easiest and most effective way to obtain bitcoins is to buy them. Try localbitcoins.com. If you are in the U.S., try coinbase.com or circle.com.

If by "miners" you are referring to mining software, then yes you can download CGMiner or BFGMiner.
But you can't get any bitcoin by mining with your computers. You need to buy ASICs or mining contracts, which is not easy to achieve break-even.

Mining uses processing power. The processing power depends on how good your hardware is. CPU mining is long dead, so is GPU. Low end ASICs are also out of the game. If you have cheap electricity, you can try to buy one from ASIC manufacturers but most of them either ships them late or doesn't ship. So the best way to earn is to post around the forum and wait to turn into a member but, there aren't alot of signature campaigns for members.

Seriously, do you know what data mining is? Please spend a few minutes on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Data_mining if you don't. It has nothing to do with cryptocurrency.

Yes, data mining is completely something else! If you want to mine crypto on your hardware (not in cloud), you need to look for information about SHA or Script mining.

Here you can find software:

Don't bother with mining unless you have bought actual mining hardware, you will pay more for electricity than you make from mining with your PC. I'm assuming that is what you want to do? I'll save you the trouble... you will download software -> get depressed because your cpu and gpu hash way lower than you expected and this is before you even calculate how much electricity is being used.

That is true, but he can try to mine alts - Fresh coins often have very low diff. If the coin jump to good exchange can earn something ;) That's good practice :)

The actual problem is that this is considered as gambling. Since the difficulty is low, the coin don't have much value. If you decide to hold on to it, it can either die off or get into a exchange and the value rises. Most alt coins either will never have high value or are just a pump and dump scheme. The time, hardware and electricity would be wasted

And it is also true :) I gave this example as a possibility that can not lose.. (as opposed to mining now Bitcoin) and it will be practice to learn more about mining and crypto..

Modern PC aren't profitable for this kind of mining. Cointellect is like dogecoin mining but you get paid by PayPal or other method. It isn't profitable unless you have cheap electricity plus scrypt ASIC. You would be mining a few cents per day and paying dollars in electrical fees if you use your CPU/GPU.

About Cointellect - you just dont get my point - suspicious softwear in my opionion means:

"After scanning the mining software with VirusTotal, Helgesen said the deep antivirus malwares scan revealed 4 possibly malicious hacking viruses, including a Trojan horse:
•Suspicious_GEN.F47V0819
•Hacktool.Win32.BitCoinMiner.bAM

Those can be false positives for example, look at cgminer, minerd etc. When you scan any mining software, it will get detected as a virus. This is normal since bitcoin botnet files usually contains those mining softwares. Once they detect the signature, they would immediately say it's a virus although it is a false positive. Antiviruses aren't as foolproof as you think, false positive happens a lot of the time.

Ran it on my PC long time ago, nothing happened yet. I'm pretty certain that it was a false positive. CGminer is open source, and every one can check the code from top to bottom and make the conclusion that it is just a false positive. But for Cointellect, it is not open source. Thus, it is not right IMHO to compare them and then assume the Cointellect program is another false positive.

I highlighted them for you. Although your point is correct, the virus is commonly detected in most if not all of the mining softwares. You can easily use your favourite open sourced miner and mine at their pool. Also, most of the anti virus either don't detect anything or just say that its a "Bitcoin miner" virus, I doubt the accurate anti viruses Bitdefender, malwarebytes would give it a clean file rating if they find any malware right?
