Can you tell me what "default" currency when creating an account matters?
Can it be changed later?
And perhaps in which banks do you have accounts for each of these currencies so I can choose the one which I have the best connectivity (SWIFT-wise) to?

Hi Miernik,

Default currency can be changed at any time from the profile settings.

Your best bet would be our ANZ bank ins Australia.

Thanks!

Currently WeExchange only supports USD, CAD and AUD
We do plan to offer EU in the future, much paperwork and no ETA yet.

I've done a few transactions as well.

What I like is the low costs associated with fiat money transfers from your bank account. In CAD, you pay $1.50, the Interac fee and that's it.

However the platform needs more exposure/people using it.

Hey Ya'll,

The Direct Merchants Auth token field doesn't strip leading and following spaces.

Those copying/pasting their auth codes are going to be confused when nothing happens on submit (no error, nada)

Probably should fix that right up.

No charge for this QA time.

Adios!

I've found a bug too, so opened a support ticket last friday, managed to work out what the problem was but as I couldn't update a support ticket I opened another detailing my findings.

If you need any more info on the bug, just let me know!

I've opened a support ticket and sent a PM to the WeExchange support user, but I've not had any response at all, so I'm hoping that if I post here, I'll hear back from someone at WeExchange.

Here's the text of my support ticket ID IRA-169341 "Missing Funds":

Quote
Hello,

This is the second ticket I am opening in regards to this issue, as I have not heard anything regarding the first ticket I opened.

On Feb. 6, I sent funds to WeExchange in the amount of 3.50342756 BTC. Also on Feb. 6 (after 6 confirmation txns), I attempted to send the total amount to BitFunder after linking my two accounts. The funds never showed up in BitFunder, nor are they accessible from WeExchange. The transaction to send funds to BitFunder seems to have an error, as it does not have anything except a Transaction ID and Type. This may be related to a bug on the site(?). These are the only transactions I have attempted on the WeExchange site.

Please respond to this ticket and let me know what you are doing to look in to this issue..

Deposit transaction details (from "View" on Funds page):

Transaction ID   0kaLMOetPeDIi2ZC5zFIREjTb1JivqFZ

I'm a new user to WeExChange (and bitcoin communite as a whole) and I ran into some problem logging in the other day.
But with the help from Ukyo (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=35121) I'm now up to speed again.
Their site might still have room for improvements, but the personal service from Ukyo is superb!

Hi,

Is we exchange having issues for anyone else? Usually sees my deposits and credits them within 6 confirmations. Been over 9 now and no sign of my deposit?

Support ticket opened, just wondering if it's a site wide/bitcoin issue, or just my account?

Thanks.

I completed the verification but when I go to log in it rejects my password. The lost password procedure doesn't recognise my email address, despite my cut and pasting it from the verification email.

I suspect this project is brown bread.

Cannot login to my WeExchange account.

Forgot password link works, but then won't work for reals.

I wonder how much business has been lost to BTC-TC over this? Seems I'm far from the only one.

No reply from Ukto on my issue yet, and someone in the IRC chat claiming to be his secretary was not very helpful.

Deposited to Bitfunder with Auth-Token provided, looked good (now 0 in wallet).
But funds don't show up on Bitfunder (1 hour and counting).

Transaction ID    nEAPMiaa2QNb1cuWtEsJFa3mrCF1OCUG

Is there lots of info missing in this form or is this normal? Can you please help me to fix this?

This is the first time that I used WeExchange or Bitfunder, but so far it's been everything else but a smooth ride.

WeExchange service is very poor.

I tried to deposit $200 into my WeExchange account 11 days ago. I followed the instructions on their website to add funds in AUD - after clicking the 'add funds' link the instructions were to deposit AUD into their ANZ bank account and include a supplied reference number with the deposit. This I did.

After a number of days my account did not show the funds. I opened a support ticket on their website. After a number of days I get a reply telling me I need to have my identity verified, and the account name and the deposit name need to be the same (NO MENTION OF THAT ON THE PAGE WITH THE DEPOSIT INSTRUCTIONS). They ask if I want to change my account name to match the name of the depositor - I say yes please, and ask if I am able to do this myself.

Well that was over a week ago. They still have my $200, but have not credited my account. They have not changed my profile details, and there does not seem to be a way to edit your own profile details on the WeExchange website. They have not replied to a number of support ticket follow up messages from myself.

WeExchange support is non-existent. I have no option but to post a message here and hope they reply.

WeExchange is a scam as far as I am concerned!

Just to start... I am not associated with WeExchange so please don't take my comments as official!
If you are looking for an exchange that won't have their bank accounts frozen or totally collapse then don't go with ANY that do not ask for a verified identity as they WILL fail. That is just a fact and while I agree that it should tell you beforehand if you don't realise that then you are gambling with your coins.
Personally I have never had a problem with WeExchange and have found it the best AUD site around... and I have always received a prompt response from their IRC channel #weex
In saying that, there are deficiencies in their site including the inability to change profile details and the fact that the front page looks like a phishing site! Although I have been hearing for the last month that this will be changed "next week" ;)
Considering that the whole premise of this decentralised currency is compromised by 80% of transactions going through 1 exchange means I seriously hope that WeExchange survives (and not just because it handles AUD without extortionate fees!)
I for one will continue to support WeExchange in the hope that it becomes a viable Australian alternative to Gox and that maybe it will inspire others to make access to Bitcoins easier.
Cheers Forrie

Ehm,

I am not sure if this is a troll posting or not to be honest.

We get quite a few people who want to sign up with one name, and deposit with another, and then want to change their identity (sometimes after submitting docs that they are the first person).
Often times people never respond back to tickets and after a week or two they get closed for nonresponse.

Can you pm me your ticket number and I will take a look and see what I can do on this. :)

Thanks,
Jon

Title: Re: WeExchange

Thanks for your reply Ukyo!

I am not a troll - I am one of your customers! I have been forced into a public 'name and shame' exercise to get a response from WeExchange. I have waited over a week!

You have $200 of my money, so I'm not in a position to open a support ticket, get bored, and then go away. Not unless you refund my money - i did give WeExchange that option in one of my messages to you, but I did not get a response

My problem is this Ukyo

- Your site processes allowed me to register and deposit money into your Australian bank account.

- At no stage did your site processes warn me that in order to credit my account you would need to verify my identity, and you require the deposit name to match my WeExchange account name.

- I registered with a name like you have here - is Ukyo your real name? Is that your first name or second name? What is your address? What country are you in? Can I see your documents - YOU HAVE MY MONEY, RIGHT! I'm at risk, not you.

- If i had known your rules I might have registered with my real name, or I might have thought about it more (uploading my passport, drivers licence and home address details is not something I do lightly - to be honest your website does not look very professional, and I am concerned this would be foolish, especially now after experiencing your level of customer service). Maybe you are a couple of guys in a bedroom. Cool, but I'm not convinced you are a legitimate business with solid processes, and that you would treat my uploaded documents ethically.

- I informed you a week ago I would like to edit my profile, so I could upload my documents YOU ASKED ME A QUESTION AND I ANSWERED - YES EDIT MY DETAILS

- Up to here I was irritated that you did not outline your policies before I deposited the money, but I was content to edit my profile, upload ID documents and proceed as your customer.

- My problem is this was over a week ago and you have ignored me ever since, and have not responded to any of my support messages - HOW CAN I EDIT MY PROFILE DETAILS?

- Your lack of service makes me feel it is unwise to upload my identification documents, BUT YOU STILL HAVE MY $200

That is my problem Ukyo!! I had to register here, hang around for 4 hours, make 5 posts, and then I could post a public complaint that you finally answered - WHAT A PAIN FOR BOTH OF US! I'm not a troll - I'm a pissed off customer!!!

You have my money - what is your identity. I looked at your profile here - is Ukyo your real name? Can I see your passport and drivers licence? I'm not having a go at you personally, but this is bitcoin - anonymity is one of the selling points. There is nothing on the WeExchange website to identify any of the people involved , NOTHING!

If you are going to have these rules (which is ok as far as I am concerned)

- MAKE IT OBVIOUS BEFORE THE CUSTOMER DEPOSITS THEIR MONEY.
- RESPOND TO THEIR SUPPORT TICKETS BEFORE THEY GET PISSED OFF

It will save you time and a lot of negative exposure.

BUT, I do thank you for  your reply!! I will PM you my support ticket number. Either refund my $200, or help me edit my profile, and give me confidence that uploading my identity documents is not a huge risk - TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS PROPERLY - Look professional!!

You are the first Ripple gateway right? You look dodgy guys!!

Your Ripple deposit option seems to not work out so well... I got cloudflare warnings for your page going offline twice now after trying to make you find my BTC deposit via transaction hash. Also I'm not too sure if I did it correctly with the ?d=... part attached to the address - the Ripple client unfortunately isn't very verbose on this and there is no documentation on your end.

I'm having weexchange problems too.  I sent a little bit of coin through ripple.  It hasn't shown up yet.  Using the ripple tx hash verification box brings up a cloudflare page.  Support ticket has been open for a week with no response.  I would think a wallet service would be run a bit more professionally.

It's only a quarter of a bitcoin, but at this point I'm really happy I decided to do a trial run and didn't send more.

Exactly like my problem, also similar amounts... :-\
The fact that they don't even react to the possibility to DOS their page just by using that Ripple hash form is worrying to me. Also over 1 week with absolutely NO reaction to the support ticket at all. >:(

I had same experience trying to sending small amount of BTC and USD via ripple...
Visit the IRC channel on Freenode #weex and ask around. It was suggested to PM 'Ukto' there, and you might get some response like I did.  I wouldn't be surprised if Weex dropped ripple.

FWIW, depositing BTC directly seems to work just fine.

Wow, all of this isn't exactly inspiring confidence in me using this service to be honest... Anybody got any good stories of using weexchange.co? I still haven't managed to register with it because every time I get the verification email, it says 'the code you provided s invalid' and doesn't verify my account. Why does bitfunder persist with such a poor standard of service provider?

I think I had this problem too when tried to use the the first time.  After a month or so I tried again and it worked but the website looked kind of janky so I never used the service.  Recently I decided to buy asicminer shares on bitfunder and thought it would be a good opportunity to try using more ripple.  Anyway it's been another week with NO RESPONSE to my open ticket.  Everyone should be careful using weexchange as there seems to be no one home.  And you should probably AVOID SENDING FUNDS THROUGH RIPPLE at the moment.

Still waiting for a response from WeExchange (see my post on May 16 for details).

I called their 1800 phone number 4 days ago. Spoke to Graeme and was told "I'll look into it. Someone will call you back in an hour" -  BUT, No call back!! No response to my tickets or PMs here. Nothing.

I deposited $200 in their account over a month ago but have not had any success in getting this resolved, so at this stage I have to concede I've been ripped off by WeExchange for $200.

If they do actually respond and assist me to either refund my money, or better still process my payment, I'll be happy to report back.

I'm not confident though. I think their operation is falling over.

I think WeExchange is dead.

Big Shame - as an Aussie I was really proud to think an Australian business was the first Ripple gateway.

Haved you tried PM'ing Ukyo or Graet?

<QG> for incorrect logins
<Ukyo> 45ish minutes

I'd like to throw out a suggestion that maybe the number of confirmations required should depend on the amount deposited.

If you are depositing 1 btc, 6 confirmations is possibly overkill and the user will be annoyed.
If you are depositing 100+ btc, 6 confirmations would seem appropriate
If you are depositing 1000+ btc, heck you should probably wait for 12 confirmations

I am STILL waiting for weexchange to credit my account after depositing funds there via Ripple (can be proven with public records...). This is a joke, seriously!

Every time I check for the transaction hash, the website goes down with a cloudflare error and it seems to find nothing on their internal rippled (the ones at s1.ripple.com see the transaction just fine). The ticket that is open for over 3 months now also is idling around without any answer at all. I would understand that you need a weekend or so to sort out transactions and manually credit accounts... but MONTHS?! It's not like you receive thousands of transactions per day after all.

I had a problem with a Ripple transaction as well and the support ticket sat untouched for quite some time. I eventually caught up with Ukyo on #bitfunder on Freenode and he took care of it.

It's not exactly convenient, but it seems to be the fastest way to get a problem with WeEx resolved.

It is a shame to see a site with so much promise go to waste because there is no support.

I've had a bank account registered there for over a month now and it still isn't verified; and there is no information on the site to tell you how to get it verified.

They have 115 points of ID from me.

Edit: I ended up calling their support number as listed at https://www.weexchange.co/main.php?page=helpcontact - 1-800-088-955 and spoke with someone who I think was called Graham. (Their VoIP system was dropping 10% of the conversation.) He advised that there is sometimes an issue with their system's BSB lookup and that it can cause accounts not to become verified.

Still a little disappointed that the online support was lacking, but otherwise happy with the result.

Cheers, Mike.

I can assume he's busy trying to resolve issue's as he recently helped me with one, but I'd consider a web login a priority issue to be solved.  That's just me.  Maybe he has something bigger that needs fixed.

As I've posted elsewhere, I also have BTC stuck and have spent 3 days trying to get money out only to get server errors.

However, I did have another amount of BTC stuck which they did free up after a few days. I managed to get that amount out by moving it in small chunks but the moment I took the total over my original released amount, I got money locked again (I had other bitfunder funds to move out). Now any other money gets server errors rather than stuck in processing.

Is it just Ukyo dealing with all the reports? I'm sure most of them could be dealt with just by fixing a few system things.

He is ukyo on IRC but as he has posted elsewhere, he is not responding personally and he won't give anyone priority. Basically, it won't make any difference. He said he is responding to tickets as fast as he can but looks to be over a week behind.

Once people like me can get our registration through it won't be so bad as at least we can trade, but the lack of information coming out just makes me incredibly wary. WeExchange's terrible implementation is making it hard to get registered because if you don't have only one set of correct information, you fail the verification. So I have the correct address on there but it's not my primary address, nor can I find a way to make it my primary address, so I fail the identity check. It's ridiculous. That plus money being stuck repeatedly and no transfers moving means I have about 7 support requests stacked up, with 1 dealt with (altho not answered, just dealt with) from about 10 days ago.

Are there many of you affected on outgoing withdrawals from Weexchange not going through?
Ukyo, will you be so kind to process withdrawals for your users, since this is affecting the community now.

He assures us that he is able to work on the technical issues over the next few days although he can't give an ETA as he is also trying to deal with support requests at the same time.

With regards to the withdrawal errors, he maintains that bitcoind is failing after only a few minutes of up time.

Ukyo,
Would you be so kind to post a daily update on how the processing of withdrawals out of Weexchange is going?
Are you processing any withdrawals and corresponding to what dates? An update will be appreciated.
You see, some of your users have compromises and purchases at other sites and are waiting for their money out.
There are some users reporting withdrawals done weeks ago and not yet processed.
These are in fact free loans you are taking without their consent.

[13:34] <Ukyo> hey guys. I got an issues with bitcoind. a. wallet size causes it to take 5~10 miuntes to load. b. as soon as send is issued, it maxes cpu/ram until restarted, and takes about 10~20 minutes until it announces to the network
[13:34] <Ukyo> and then rpc times out after that
[13:34] <sipa> how many keys/transactions?
[13:34] <Ukyo> over ten thousand easily
[13:35] <sipa> there have been some improvements to that recently in head
[13:36] <Ukyo> so this is kind of a known issue for the size? i.e. bitcoind isnt really meant for the size and its something being worked on?
[13:37] <sipa> it wasn't designed for it, no

I wanted to say thanks real quick to Warren on irc who is a Litecoin dev who is helping me to straighten this out and make sure there is no problem in the future.

As it stands, I have started initiating manual withdraws. It takes about 20 to 30 minutes between each one as mentioned in the above irc quote so please bare with me
for a bit. We are going through tickets trying to get things caught up in proper order for fairness. If you get your withdraw, please post and let people know.

I will continue to work on this 24/7 excluding unintentional sleeps as I have been for the last week now. I hope to get all withdraws caught up very shortly.

Thank you for your patience and understand,
Ukyo

Just a clarification on my side: I've successfully withdrawn AUD from WeEx even though they remain listed as 'processing' - I haven't yet attempted to withdraw BTC. Since they're talking about bitcoind above, I suspect it's Bitcoin withdrawals that are being problematic, not Fiat.

Thanks for communicating with us :) WeEx is working well for me at the moment, thanks.

It would be helpful if someone who gets their withdrawal processed posts the BTC quantity and date of help ticket. That way we can see if and how things are progressing.

I asked ukyo about this - the number you called shouldn't be on the website so if you found it there, post the link here. The only contacts are for the Australian side now. I had called it after it being posted on Reddit.

That number is not on the weexchange site. Did you grab it from reddit or a cache? This is what I find on weexchange.

https://www.weexchange.co/?page=helpcontact

However, it makes no difference. Weexchange is more or less just Ukyo and he is dealing with withdrawals based on ticket order. So calling or speaking to Ukyo personally won't get things moving faster. Just ensure you have a ticket raised and watch this space.

Ukyo, you probably dont realize this and wont ever do, because you are financially secured somewhere in america (?) and thanks to your accomplishments in bitcoin community, but you are effectively ruining people's lives here, man..
I am making ~6000 USD per year, i already lost close to 30 coins thanks to securities like BASIC-MINING and some other (i now, i am only to blame myself..), so people ran me over in the past. That amount would be enough to buy me a house where i live.. a nice one that is..
You are holding my last few coins i have hostage and that is everything i have and ever will with the prices like this.. i kinda counted at least on that to change my life significantly in the upcomming years.
I simply cannot afford to buy any new bitcoins when one coin is worth 560 EUR, that is three months worth of rent and food for me. i dont have that kind of money.. if i had, i would buy at least one..
What I want from you is a simple promise that I will see my bitcoins in the upcomming weeks. some of those are belonging to a family member of me and he is very nervous and wants me to do something with it, which is not in my power, obviously.
Please, I beg you.. process my bitcoins and bitcoins of these other people that are impatiently waiting, dont ruin us.
I am sure those other people here would like to use those coins to buy something or sell, when the market is blooming like this.

Thank you very much.

My pending withdrawal is:
Code:
Date	2013-11-13 10:00:07

Type Withdraw
Debit 4.85676424 BTC
Credit

Status Processing

i am sending messages here, because i am sure your inbox is full and i dont want my message to be lost there. i dont want to spam, please inform me if i am doing something wrong.

As was announced earlier, most of the coins that were stored in WeExchange.co are now gone. We are still limited in what we can share about how that happened, and what is being done about it, but we do have some updates.

There are still approximately 386btc available in the wallets. These coins will be paid proportionally to all owed users, based on current user balances, by Monday night.

All old withdrawal requests will be removed and each user will need to initiate new withdrawals when this new balance is ready.

Full instructions on how to access the site to process these withdrawals will be provided by 5pm (GMT+2) on Monday 16th December, when you should be able to withdraw the portion of available funds allotted to your account.

This is far from ideal, but it gets every satoshi that is available to those with outstanding balances. When we are able, we will announce more details on what is being done to repay the remaining coins that are owed to WeExchange.co users.

Yes, I know of the issue. I also know that the withdraw link/info that was suppose to be posted today wasn't.

As of 12/14/13 I was not able to even initiate a withdraw, their website would give me a second stage error.

As of 12/15/13 near midnight I was able to get past the second stage error only to be met with the withdrawal limit message.

As of today (12/16/13) We all have non of our money back. My original post , quoted above, merely served as a reminder that even us with few Bitcoins cannot even initiate a withdraw. As such the limit should have been lifted from Bitfunder and WeExchange when the shutdown notice was first posted.

I don't mean to start an argument or flame war ect.. Just my two cents.
