Title: I think I have a severe case of Bitcoinitis - help!
Post by: BrightAnarchist on June 08, 2012, 03:28:00 AM
Symptoms include, but not limited to:

- Severe addition to buying bitcoins, the more interesting a method used the better
- Constant checking of forums for new updates, to the point where it affects work and relationships
- Only wanting to hang out with other bitcoiners
- Wearing bitcoin T-shirts and decorating your car with bitcoin bumper stickers
- Little understanding as to why others don't "get it" and use bitcoin
- Only drink out of a bitcoin mug
- First thing you do in the morning is check bitcoinwatch.com, and then head to the forums
- Wonder why anyone cares about the value of your state currency anymore
- Plan out how you will spend your billions when bitcoin becomes mainstream
- Talk about bitcoin so much that your friends and family know you as "that guy who's obsessed with bitcoin"
- Believe real world women should be impressed that you are able to make money "on the dark web"

Where will this condition lead?? Is there a cure??

Sounds that I'm not the only patient.  ;D
I'm looking for the day when bitcoin is perceived as a commonplace commodity or currency like gold or silver.

What is this "real world woman" to which you refer?

According to legend, there exists a world outside the Internet, in which women are real and not actually men. Some claim to have visited this strange land, and they tell fantastic stories of their travels, though few believe them without photographic evidence.

Did someone already take "bitcoin"?

I had to look up bitcoinwatch.com.

I don't think you're really infected, because you still worry about exchange rates.

I also have these symptoms of bitcoinitis OP.
Add a new one:The desire to mine on literally any device regardless of cost of mining on said devices.I'm talking about, laptops, smartphones, router (as it can be modded),Smart TV (with modded firmware),internet cafe computers etc in addition to my own desktop PC.

Mine both currencies BTC (on GPUs) and LTC (CPUs) of all respective devices I mentioned to maximise returns at any cost.Lol. ;D

Would love to but I sent all mine to that nice African prince who's been emailing me, in exchange for his kingdom.
He said shipping would only be 3-4 days but I guess there must have been some hold up, I'll wait another few days.

OP, I feel for ya, I don't have your condition yet, but I'm working whole heartedly on catching it.

My uncle is a fiat millionaire. He's a little bit concerned that I'm more motivated about amassing Bitcoin wealth than paper money. He's still trying to convince me that inflationary papers have more value than cryptographically signed bytes.

Be sure to let him know that portfolio diversification is not necessarily a bad thing, although I'm sure he would know that already.

Yes he know that but I had to teach him how to use an iPad. The Bitcoin concept sounds like technological voodo in his ears.
