Title: Selling Mining Rig Cheap!
Post by: SexyVictory on June 08, 2012, 07:29:55 AM
I am just about to move to Australia for a new job and I don't have the space for my old mining rig.  I'm really sad to have to sell it but it happens.  I wish I'd realized this early because I'm actually leaving this weekend and I'd really like to get something for it instead of just leaving it.  Because there is such little time to sell it I'm going to sell it incredibly cheaply.  I'm only asking for 80 bitcoins when about a month ago I paid about 630$ for.  The specs are as followed:
AMD Sempron 130 AM3 Processor
2GB DDR3 RAM
2x ATI Radeon HD5770 GPU
450W Power Supply
8GB USB Drive with LinuxCoin Already Setup.
Jumpdrive with backup drivers/software in case of reset.

PM me if you are interested, I will try and be as accommodating as possible as far as payment/shipping so please don't be afraid to message me.

(Sorry I posted on wrong place!)

Do you have any trading references and are you willing to either go through escrow or ship first?

I am very interested in this. I asked for pictures of the setup and this is what he sent me:

I already have it boxed up and cushioned so that it doesn't shift around. Ugh. Someone else is offering a little less then you and sounds a bit more serious about it. I'll see what I can do about the picture but I'm really not too keen on unpacking it.

I know it may seem like I'm trolling for scammers, but I was genuinely interested in this rig and I hope that you can provide us with some pictures of the stuff. Sorry if that means you have to unbox it, but I think it would have been wise to take pictures before you boxed it up in the first place. Then again, I don't know any miners that dont have pictures of their rigs, regardless of size or hashing power.

I have none, but I'll continue to call this a scam since it just reeks of it from both you and your sock puppet. Join a month ago, beg for pennies in the Newbie section, claim to have sent 5BTC to a stripper 3 days later. Seems legit.
Find a questionable thread, scream scammer. That's never happened before.
Head to Marketplace, start selling game accounts. Won a couple on a Steam contest, sold two, and they're still going fast? Totally legit.
Selling a 350MH/s CPU? Nothing to see here. Maybe you can sell it to the guy wanting to buy an FPGA that you were probing.
Sell another D3 key to the OP, then turn around and buy their mining right for twice the market value? Seems reasonable.

I can't see anything in your post history that raises a red flag. Carry on.

This is where I ask Maged to verify if the person who claimed to buy the gear just happens to have the same IP as the seller.
