Title: WE NEED A DAY!!!!!!!---YOU HAVE TO READ Post by: rodeoclownicp on November 21, 2014, 10:17:49 PM some of us who are from the usa may not know but the largest shopping day in the world is not black friday or its little sis cyber monday- its singles day. yes singles day, a (chino centric) Asian holiday. singles day is not valentines, its kinda the oposite. its where, if you dont have anybody, you buy yourself something. why is this important,well, this last jump in btc (when it got to 460usd) 100% absolutely coincided with singles day November 11th. after that little pop, others jumped on board buying btc because it looked like it was on the way back up and we got 2- 3 days of great btc numbers. just from one online shopping day. Well what do we see every year on TV? Black friday numbers and "wow look at how much sold in online sales." well WE NEED A DAY!!!!!!!. we need A BITCOIN SHOPPING DAY- let the news report the growth of "bitcoin day" every year. Lets force merchants to take notice. then of course in time ltc and doge and etc. day. people can talk about how there coins day did or whatever. But it all starts with BITCOIN DAY. when bitcoin does well- we all do well. with a shopping day it would also attract merchants. when btc is NOT converted to fiat but is used in its place...WE WIN BIG. so there it is.
Singles day was started by alibaba- i think if we got the three biggest btc acceptors on board and had them work together this would pop. why wouldnt they? a coordinated sale with advertising would be a big boost for them and the manufacturers would come along in a year or two? What if the rise in BTC sales lower its overall value. Bitcoin is getting harder and harder to mine and for some reason its value keeps dropping. That goes against supply and demand rules which states the the lower the supply then the higher the price. Having a bitcoin day may not do what you expect it to do.

That is too simplified thinking.Supply of BTC is not just from miners. I never mined bitcoins, yet I am ready to sell them therefore I am supply as well. Supply of gold is not just from miners of Gold. The more BTC or gold is mined, the less impact have the miners on supply. Another factor by BTC is that overall amount that will be mined is known, therefore market counts with the 21M. You can not compare situation where mining of BTC is declining with some supply shock like unexpected closure of gold mines. I repeat but I sincerely think that why only 1 day? personally I think that associating bitcoin with an astronomical event like the 4 solar positions (max, low, mids) during the 4 bitcoin weeks of the years, with the support of merchants (for special offers and co) is my proposition. around the 21 +/- 3 days in dec, march, june, sept.
