Title: Seeking Historical MtGox Order Book Data
Post by: Paleus on November 22, 2014, 01:46:40 AM
Hello Guys,

I am doing some economics research into the volatility, liquidity, and velocity of bitcoin as a money system and I wanted to reach out to everyone on the forum here to see if anyone has price data from the exchange order books in the earlier days. I am talking about MtGox et al.

For anyone interested in what I have completed thus far, you can check out http://diginomics.com/the-bitcoin-revolution.pdf

Big thanks for any interest and assistance with this project. You can reply here or PM me.

Mtgox was before my time in bitcoin so I know nothing about it but I have read up on it and I learned the important lesson to never trust your bitcoin on any exchange site. get in, do your trades and get out.  ;)

I think you can still query btccharts for this information. There should be historical data for Gox available via multiple venues. Maybe a search of the forums.

Check this one:

Data from 2012: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=88054.0

Mt Gox operated normally up to February 2013. So for the last few months, the data is not available.
