Title: Start mining bitcoins- What initial investment is needed to make a profit
Post by: Maartenmrtr on November 23, 2014, 05:54:30 PM
Dear Bitcoin Forum users,

I have a question for all of you, I have little experience but would like to get into bitcoin mining.

So, my question: How much initial investment would be needed to start mining bitcoins and make a reasonably good profit (considering hardware cost, power cost etc.).

Much appreciated  ;)
Regards, Maarten

You can goto coinwarz to check profitability(you can calculate both scrypt and sha256 coins profitability) .I don't recommend getting into mining now.   :)

You can get a Bitmain AntMiner S3+ miner right now for $210 USD (0.571 BTC) . Whether or not it can generate a profit depends on your cost of electricity.

Invest only as much as you can afford to lose.

Personally I like hardware myself.  You should also decide fi you want hardware or if you trust some of the cloud mining sites as shown above.

Friendly reminder to OP: The earning is inversely proportional to the mining difficulty. If difficulty is doubled, your daily earning will be halved. This is something you must take into consideration in your calculation.
