Hey,

just out of curiosity, I see many ANACS graded coins flying around; I'm from Europe (NL) and we don't use the ANACS system here afaik. How much does it cost you to get a coin graded? And does anyone have any experience with that in Europe? (Not meant to hijack your topic btw; if you want me to open a new one lemme know ;))

Cheers,

Well if you send in 5 coins you can get economy service @ $19 per coin. Economy takes 3-4 weeks for them to be graded and shipped back. Only 2 known grading companies will grade these ICG and ANACS. ANACS is the better choice as they are a little more respected.

I don't know very much about Casascius coins to be honest. I've been wondering are they still being made or are the existing coins the only ones there will ever be?

Not just Casascius coins either.  It seems like a lot of small vendors are seeing reduced sales lately.  I think the hardware manufacturing companies and cloud mining services are sucking up all the BTC from the ecosystem leaving behind a wake of destruction on independent vendors.  Quite sad really...

The existing coins are all there will ever be. Casascius coins are sort of the best of all the coins since it was the first mover in the market. But it's all slowing down.

Thank you :). So they would / could be a good investment for the future.

I would say, in my opinion from what I've seen- if any physical Bitcoins will hold value in the future then loaded, high-graded Casascius coins will always be the "gold" of that market. I still need to add a Casascius coin to my collection Asap, where I would hold it like an Oz. of .999 gold, just as a long-term stable store of value. I guess someone could call me optimistic though.

I think he might be still selling those large bags of aluminum promo coins that a lot of people try to mark way up on eBay and such, but not sure.

However- I did happen to stumble across this gem (https://casascius.wordpress.com/2014/11/14/2014-silver-casascius-coin-to-commemorate-the-bitcoin-st-petersburg-bowl-game-on-dec-26/) the other day- a Casascius-made coin for the coin toss at the Bitcoin St. Petersburg bowl game! Obviously not the same type of coin as his name brand is famous for, but I still thought it was really cool to see he is working on releasing another coin- in gold plated .999 silver nonetheless!
All I have to say guys- just Please try to save me a couple to buy before one or two Bulk purchases are made by one of your crew! ;)

Sorry for the semi-thread jack, those are great looking coins though. I thought it was especially cool to see the MS-67 grading on the CI 10,000 Dogecoin. Their minting has been fantastic from what I have seen so far, no noticeable nicks or scrapes that I've seen.

Why does the silver 2013 MS-66 Cas coin have green font?
Also, what coins are you looking to for to trade with?

You mean on the first bits? All of the silvers have that color...some are lighter or darker than others though.  Looking for anything 2013 MS-67 or 10BTC coins

is this true?? if so I better sell all my casascius coins. As you can see lealana coins/titan and others dont carry a premium as they (makers)are still selling (even though they look awesome).
casascius will carry a premium if and only if they are never made again.

You will not see anymore Casascius coins made as far as I know. This new one is a collectible coin made for a football game, I don't see why Casascius Bitcoins would decrease in value at all since they will still be just as scarce.

The coin is just a commemorative coin to mark the game. It will not have a private key/hologram/any BTC value.

Casascius has stated a bunch of times...making them is not worth the risk. Mike accomplished what he had set out to do and is done...so no worries.
