Dear GanjaCoin community,

after following the situation with Ganja for a while and due to interesting turns of events in other areas,

I hereby announce the takeover of GanjaCoin by Altcoin.Center.

What this means is that Altcoin.Center will:

- Provide upgraded wallets compiled against current non-vulnerable versions of the OpenSSL library. No new functionality will be added at this point; this is just an initial "emergency" update to eliminate the risks related to the buggy versions of OpenSSL.

- Initiate the search for a developer who is able and willing to take charge of technical development of GANJA

- Manage the strategical planning and overall coordination of the non-technical side of GANJA development, i.e. branding, partnership deals etc.

- Generally look after the coin doing our best to give it a long, stable and prosperous life.

For starters we have already added GanjaCoin to the Altcoin.Center addseed network. The network currently has four DDoS protected nodes; two in Europe, two in Northern America. More nodes are to be added shortly. The task of the nodes is to provide a permanent high availability block source for GANJA as well as other coins "protected" by us.

The seed servers can be reached at the following addresses:

Both Bleutrade and C-Cex have been informed, asking them not to de-list the coin.

It has been rather crazy lately indeed. =D

And yes, it certainly is a rescue mission.

There are many users who have invested significant amounts of time and energy to these coins, and it would be too unfair if they simply lost their holdings.

Ideas regarding co-operation between the cannabis related coins have popped up in many threads lately, and it seems we're about to see a wonderful unified front of 420 coins in the very near future!

So how about a paper wallet now?? :D

GANJA may have started as such, but it does not need to stay that way.

The ICO phase (as well as the original developers) are long gone. What happens now is up to both the current leadership as well as the community.

We have a lot going on right now behind the scenes at A.C and we are working with minimal resources so it will take a little while before the results become visible, but paper wallets are one of the things we'll be providing to all coins hosted and steered by us.

ok well what might be your vision on this coin

it started out maybe honorable but then not so

do have any ideas on the development and how the coin might be actually used

as we have here in usa a problem with federal laws and banking practices are at best weird

do you think this coin can become a real currency for the industry as once planned

that is a really sweet thing indeed

its real needed thing and probably will be for years to come

thus making it a nice niche market to be

are you holding alot of these coins ?everyone asks this

and ofcourse its still early in this so its understandable on progress but this time is very critical to its life

please community help out with ideas on this project, and ofcourse this will need lotsa ganja for thinking

which is what i like the most its a great name 8)

I do indeed - I tend to have ideas up to an extent that it's almost a problem for me if I don't have a way to channel them into action. =D

There are many possible directions to go and I'd like to have a thorough chat about them with you and everyong in the thread. =)


Yeah, I've always been interested in socio-political issues and have been watching the developments in the US with growing worries. It's not a paradise over here (in Finland) either, but having headquarters here is still at least a bit more safe - they should not be able to label me as a terrorist or anything similar quite so easily. =P


I certainly think it has all the potential to do just that, although the tactics have to be carved up really carefully and Ganja also has to have a niche and an image that makes it clearly stand out from the many other weed coins - many of which I'm actually involved in.

The way I see it, it's not a problem at all that there are many different weed coins in existence. They can and in my opinion they should work together rather than try to compete with each other.


I have 1365 GANJA at the moment, so not very much. My motives are not based on making a quick profit - I'm more interested in supporting the whole 420 coin scene as a whole.

It would be absolutely wonderful and in fact mandatory to have the community deeply involved in developing the coin further. I have a lot going on and can not allocate all my time to any single coin.

To be perfectly honest, I was already seriously thinking about burning Ganja away as I thought there was no community remaining at all. I'm having very different feelings now, and will update my views regarding this issue to the 420 Alliance thread I linked above.

Yeah, the wallet will be the same for now. An upgrade is on the way but there's no reason to rush with that - everything works as it is for now. =)

I have bought some to put on paper wallet. Is there a plan of making one or not?
I would take this myself but I have really no ide how to make a paper wallet service unfortunately.
