First thing is to be aware that the value of bitcoin is very volatile. You should verify for yourself if the risk is acceptable.

For a nice getting started guide I suggest https://bitcoin.org/en/getting-started. You could also buy bitcoins directly from someone, but it is up to you to make sure they are trustworthy.

Don't feel bad, most of us (including me) don't know that and those who do tend to guard their knowledge since sharing it would reduce their own profitability.

just remember that Bitcoin price is changing a lot, do not invest before you have the knowledge about bitcoin in general and also how to protect your bitcoins

You should buy bitcoin now that it is cheap.
Take a look at many cheap altcoins and research carefully to make huge gains.

First setup your address, most secure is blockchain.info with 2 factor authentication (setup that too). Offline wallets best and quickest is multibit right now.
Then buy and hold long term (2-5 years), and dont be afraid fluctuations of price

I would rather just buy bitcoin and keep it in an offline wallet till bitcoin price goes up significantly.
But if you really want to try trading, you can take a look at the speculation section https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=57.0 and see other users' analysis and predictions.

Safest bet always when it comes to crypto is just to BUY AND HODL Bitcoin, but if you must trade, trade on a reputable site like Cryptsy, Bitstamp, BTC-E or the link on my signature, Bit-x:

https://bit-x.com/

As always, only invest in what you can afford to lose, don't go overboard!  Good luck.

I'd suggest you to buy now and hold for 3 months.
While holding, browse this forum and get some more knowledge.

Try avoiding ponzi schemes, gambling.

Follow the advice in those two posts and I'd suggest sticking more to the latter for now.., stay away from exchanges until you you've gotten a good handle on just how volatile crypto markets are.

Very true. Just take a look at https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/bitstamp/btcusd and you can see how crazy the bitcoin market is. It could go up 10 times within 2 months, or it could go down 50% within a month.
