Title: selling 10 Icarus FPGA boards
Post by: rudrigorc2 on June 15, 2012, 11:04:04 AM
http://gator83.hostgator.com/~dagrauna/cn/10ica.jpg

Fourth batch = less power needed.  17~18watts per board.

10 boards total hashing = 3.8GH/180watts

38BTC each board

if you buy all ten I can give the wifirouter and usb hub for free.

this is the cable you get - 5.5x2.5mm connector
http://gator83.hostgator.com/~dagrauna/cn/Icarus_Power_Wire.JPG

If you need the adapter you have to look for one like this, 12V at least 2amp

Hmm, I wonder if you'll have a hard time selling these now that BFL is releasing ASIC miners. Who knows when they will actually come out but I'm curious if anyone is holding off on fpga miners because of their (BFL's) announcement.

Good luck with the sale though!

If cant sell this wonderful plug and play rig I'll mine until the last profitable share. Not worried at all :D Thanks.

Wouldn't you rather sell it cheaper NOW just to get rid of it, in case ASICs were a bit closer than we all think ?
I realize it would mean a larger-than-desired loss, but look at what might end up happening if BFL releases their ASICs before the end of the year.

If FPGAs take upwards of 12+ Months to break even and they are worthless in 6-8, what incentive is there for anyone to buy them  ?
....not trying to crap on your thread, because BELIEVE ME, I am about 5 seconds away from buying the lot from you....but I am just worried, like everyone else.

First, I dont want to get rid of it. I have 30 boards running beautifully.  Here I am selling 10 only. If some one wants to BUY NOW all 30(29), great, I can deliver, I just did not want to advertise them here and after that go to the post office everyday and take a risk for several people packages.

If theres no remedy for the ASIC threat and I already paid for them and no one whats it any more,  why worry?
But if you still buying, yeah, I am being honest here, you should worry about the future. Cause I am already in it, kinda hurts, but no need to panic.

Update: 1 board sold, the P&P Rig still intact

I don't think there is much point in selling them right now. Just mine with them until they are no longer profitable. Nobody is going to pay $400 or more for these now and I doubt you'd want to sell them at far far below purchase price - especially if you don't have them paid off yet.

Are they still going for 38BTC? That seem kind of steep considering ASIC is coming out soon.

Soon as in October or November or December or January

still 380USD

and now you can trade-in for mr. Zhang Asics as seen here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=110090.0

Lame, its only $300 worth of trade-in. And not doable during preorder

I would rather do preorder, and save alot more. Not to mention having ASIC mining early means more income.

Good luck lol
