Title: Ukash bitcoin scam Post by: zero3112 on June 16, 2012, 03:35:09 PM A sad and long story about being scammed. Ukash to bitcoin scam.
I have lost $100 in a trade with bitcoinseller. Please I'm warning everyone don't fall for the Ukash bitcoin scam. What happened is that I wanted bitcoin and bitcoinseller wanted Ukash. What I did next was bought a Ukash voucher to trade with bitcoinseller for bitcoins. So after I bought him the first Ukash voucher, he didn't pay me the bitcoin. Instead he wanted me to buy a second Ukash voucher with the cash he sent me on paypal. I was thinking no because I thought if I bought him a Ukash voucher with the money he gave me he could just reverse his papal transaction and thus get the second Ukash voucher for free. So I told him that the site wouldn't let me buy a second Ukash voucher which was a lie. He told me that if I don't refund his paypal back that he will reverse his paypal transcations to me and never pay me. So I issued him a refunded on paypal hoping he would send me the bitcoins. He never did and since then theirs been no reply. After that he was gone like the wind. The #Bitcoin-otc Web of Trust (WoT) is quite useful in learning how trustworthy your counterparty is. - http://wiki.bitcoin-otc.com/wiki/Using_bitcoin-otc#Risk_of_fraud Title: Re: Ukash bitcoin scam Post by: arby on June 19, 2012, 09:58:31 AM I do not know if you are talking about the same person, but "bitcoinseller" (the nickname) is also on btc-e.
As soon as I spoke on their chat, he sent me a PM stating that he is willing to sell me bitcoins for $5.2, when the price on the website was $6.4. I said just "hi" on the chat, nothing about buying bitcoins, so obviously he was contacting anyone that talked there. I told him, ok, but to send the bitcoins first, he said he does not agree, and I asked him to search for another victim. When something sounds too good to be true, it usually is.
