Title: Mt Gox Issues?
Post by: Kmitchell03 on May 18, 2011, 08:12:05 PM
For some reason, when I'm trying to add bitcoins to mt gox, it gives me an error saying: "Exception! In order to trade on the exchange you must add either US dollars (USD) or Bitcoins (BTC). You can redeem your funds at anytime."

I'm trying to add bitcoins... why is it saying this? Anyone else having this issue or found a way to resolve it?

- K

I'm getting no such error. Can you get to https://mtgox.com/users/addFunds ?

Vaguely related note -- is there a way to confirm I sent BTC to the right address? I sent 15 BTC an hour or so ago and have 21 confirmations, but my balance @ MTG is what it was before I sent the coins.  :-X

I'm guessing there's no such refund for sending BTC to a nonexistant hash address?

Tried 3 different browsers. Same affect. No one else is having this issue?

I am able to get to that address but it keeps acting like im not sending anything... its weird. I know it can take like a hr for your btcs to show up on there but this exception thing it keeps doing is getting nerve racking.

Addblock blocked stuff for me. You should get popup after pushing the button for adding bitcoins.

I believe the popup is done through Javascript. Perhaps Java isn't correctly installed on his machine?

Just put down my blocker even though it has never been an issue before... same deal. tried 3 different computers. same deal. This is weird and getting a little annoying

I have the same problem. 23 confirmations and no BTC on account.

In transaction info it shows "Not yet redeemed". Maybe its just some lag on mtgox?

Ha. Our transactions are in the same block. Guess we just need to wait a bit longer, then.

Tried to press "Send Bitcoins" button and "Exception!" ribbon appeared on the page.
Worked fine usually.

:( This now appears for me, too.

Hope my BTC isn't lost.

I'm having the same problem; I think there's a server error. You can always email admin@mtgox.com

What is this doing in the mining forum?

I thought about that as soon as I put it up here... You can look how busy the general bitcoin discussion forum is doing though... This also is kinda a big deal for those who mine too I'd assume.

I emailed info@mtgox.com already. Perhaps it's a good thing right now that I cant send over some BTCs. The value has gone down today and maybe it'll go back up when this issue is resolved and perhaps this issue has some reflection to do with the decreased value :D...I hope

MagicalTux reported a bitcoind crash on irc.  He has restarted it.
"This problem is linked to a lack of stability in bitcoind. We recently upgraded to bitcoin 0.3.21, and it seems that this version is not stable. We'll wait a bit and if it crashes again we'll downgrade."
-Mark

My BTC transaction just prior to the crash went through now, too. Whew.
