Hello everyone, I'm currently new here and I've been reading through a lot of the topics relevant to the 7970 however it seems that most people use compilers and codes. I'm not very familiar with any other programs related to mining at this point besides GUIMINER, it's the most simplistic program... If someone can point in the right direction, that would be very helpful. I might be able to provide benchmark results as I've seen many people request(I'm not that familiar with OCing). Currently my Memory Clock is set to 300 and my GPU clock is at 1100> I get about 645 Mhash/s at temps of about 61*, my fan speed is at 70-80% and I find it quite loud.  Today I've received my second 7970, but I get about 300 Mhash/s with that card only, does anyone know why? I've installed the AMD 12.4 Driver 2 days ago.  Thank you for reading!

i5 2500k
Corsair h100
ASRock Z77 Extreme4 LGA 1155 Motherboard
Corsair XMS3 4 X 4
Kingwin Lazer Platinum LZP-1000 Power Supply
2 Sapphire HD 7970s (currently going to install 2 Accelero's on the 7970s since the reference fans are loud as hell at 60%+)
1 240 GB SSD
1 750 GB HDD

I have a P3 kill a watt power supply meter if anyone needs anything :)

How much could I make in 1 day if I left my pc mining 24/7 at 1300 Mhash/s? I paid about 380$ for one of the used 7970s and 460 for the other 7970.

While I am certainly not very knowledgeable regarding miners at the moment, regarding your latter questions I recommend you check out some of these calculators. They are very handy for knowing exactly how much you could make, finding the time it will take you to break even, and comparing different mining equipment.

I find it quite entertaining crunching the numbers and imagining the crazy and unrealistic amounts of money the calculators say I could make. :D

I prefer cgminer, it does take a little learning but is fully featured and works really well on my 7970s :)
I wrote a fairly easy to follow guide on cgminer with a .bat file here

I get 700Mhash/s from each of my 7970s :)
using something like this in my .bat file
cgminer.exe -o http://us2.ozco.in:8332 -u graet.20 -p p -o http://eu2.ozco.in:8332 -u graet.20 -p p -I 7 -k poclbm --auto-fan --gpu-engine 1100-1180 --auto-gpu --gpu-vddc 0.88 --gpu-memdiff -150

I find this is also easy for testing, by commenting out my "stable " line with a # i can run an experimental line but easily revert (by moving the # ) to my original line

12.4 driver hasnt been reported as awesome, I still use 12.2 and 12.3

****at current difficulty***** which is increasing 10%ish in about 36hours :)
