I heard a RUMOR from a friend of a friend who knows Zuckerberg personally that the Facebook guru is planning to pump $100million into Bitcoin

True or not, I don't know - but my friend is hardly a flake.  I wonder what a Zuckerberg entry into the Bitcoin market would do to the price?

I imagine much more have been planned for crypto.

This hearsay would belong in speculation subforum for these two reason:

1) zuckerberg buying BTC
2) price of BTC

1. If I invest 100 mil right now, I will have ~0.26 mil BTC [likely less because it would appreciate during buying of such quantities]
2. 0.26 mil is  MUCH more than Winkelevoss twins have  ;D [they have ~0.13 mil BTC]
3. Hence, I win, AGAIN!

If he really do *invest* I would expect him to put more rather than just 100mil taking into consideration the size of his wealth. Don't forget we are talking about a person who makes 1.6 billion in one single day from the surge of Facebook stock.

That would be pretty amazing, although the Winks already own BTC so I'm sure they'd welcome Mark into the space. Not to mention the Winks have Spiderwoman on their side, so their ETF will be the first to be approved.

This is like one of those "My uncle works for" rumours to me :P Also, I'm pretty sure Mark Zuckerberg is in deep with the U.S government, everyone should know those types at the very least won't announce they use Bitcoin publicly.

Forget the unlikeliness of a guy who has billions and shoomzes with the big guys who hate abitcoin and the fact he isn't focused on financial tech. He is actually likely to try to grab some of the Bitcoin system. He reminds me of a Bill Gates always buying up the emerging competition. If Bitcoin goes mainstream he will have some version of it be it another alt or some app connected to FB and bought up as much as he is able to.

Whatever it may be, whether it's truth or not, if not, it won't affect the prices, if yes, then the prices will hike for sure that said on the basis of being every coin sold and a big pump and also a chance for everyone to sell their coins higher, if they want to...

Given a fact 100 mil. USD is just a dimes for Zuckerberg, I would say it would be sane for him to enter Bitcoin with 10x of that amount. Anyways, that's how I would do it if I was him, question is whether he can do this because of political reasons.

All in all, Bitcoin rise is imminent and more probable day by day. Next rise would mean Bitcoin becomes mainstream, and after that one I would not be surprised that Bitcoin does not follow the classic bubble pattern but to continue with steady rise.

Zuckerberg is not investing 100 millions in BTC but many Billionaires have and will. Very rich and rich people invest in BTC too in case it succeeds and for diversification.

If Zuckerberg wants to diversify, he could theoretically buy some BTC. Or owns some through a trust he is not managing.
