It's been some time in the making, but it looks like the next era of Digitalcoin has begun. And I think there will be more to come over the next few months. There is a great group behind this coin, and things are really starting to come together.

Cut the dilution down to 48 million and really cut back the inflation too.  This coin is gonna go BOOM when demand picks up as soon as Bitcoin takes off.

There was a very minor issue with the wallet.

In some cases, a config file was created with a line "reindex=1" which causes the wallet to reindex the blockchain each time the wallet is opened.

A new release, version 3.0.1a, is available at https://github.com/DGCFoundation/DGCV3.0/releases which corrects this.

If you installed the initial version of the the wallet, simply locate the config file and if you have a line that says "reindex=1" then delete the line.

Block times seem to have gone back to normal (for now).

not really such major changes destroy the entire idea of a trustless system.

Besides the lowering of rewards, changes include:

• Change to multiple algorithms for increased blockchain security. Now Scrypt, SHA256, and X11
• Reworking of difficulty adjustments. Difficulty now adjusts on each algorithm according to hashrate on other algorithms. Improves mining fairness. 
• Enabling and expansion of OP_Return data storage. Allowing up to 1024 bytes of data.
• Escalating transaction fees based on amount of OP_Return data included in the transaction. Don't know that this has been done before.
• Major improvements to the standard wallet. Now includes exchange viewer, built in block explorer, and embedded irc chat.
• Other minor improvements

Digitalcoin has functioned reliably for a year and a half now. Over 1 million blocks strong and counting. During this time many coins have come and gone. These improvements are not drastic changes, but do set the stage for much of what's to come.

At block 1028000 the first phase will be complete. Expect more in the coming months.

The fun has just begun.

I disagree. we took the community's opinion and ideas into what we did well in advance. the majority of us hold very little DGC. e.g. me only holding around 10K DGC. so we have very little need to only make changes which benefit us which means people like you and other members of our community benefit. The coin is still completely trustless. Only if > 51% of nodes adopt the V3 Client then does the changes occour. That is what trustless is.

What's up? sad that we're putting the work into DGC to make it successful? DGC was never dead and still isnt. Wether its winter, summer, spring or autumn. DGC will always be rocking!

I can confirm that test transactions have been done on btc38.com and cryptsy.com and they worked as expected.

or it is dying.i guess you forget the past and still dream about DGC will shine as XCP or RIPPLE does

What doesn't kill us makes us stronger.

There are over 1,000,000 blocks in the Digitalcoin blockchain that will never be forgotten.

We learn from the past, but we control our own future.

Of course we have high hopes for Digitalcoin, and there are several people working on the project who are very competent and dedicated. There's been a lot of work done and we've just completed a successful fork. There will be more things coming and we look forward to bringing some solid honest value to the world.

every geek has its self-comfort method.people buy things coz the things have value or people give them so-called value.now,nobody  buy DGC coz there is no value or even people do not have interest to buy.i trust you guys have faith in DGC.so,why dont you guy make buys and become whales to make noise to attract more to follow .i believe in this way DGC will survive and live better.if you this kind of plan to save this coin,be rapid ,otherwise people dont buy your story.people currently understand this world.the dev dont buy but sell and try to convince other to buy.

the dev is not supposed to be manipulating the price. the dev is supposed to be giving the coin value which the user's see and the user's benefit by having a use for DGC. this use is what gives it its value

So let me understand....you are looking for the value of the coin to be manipulated? If that is what you are looking for, Digitalcoin is not the coin for you. I would be happy to purchase any Digitalcoin you hold. I recommend you look into other coins where price manipulation is acceptable.

Yeah, I don't really understand. Is this a request to buy your coins above market price? If so, as kenel says, name your price. Many of us own and continue to trade Digitalcoin, but that's really our business as individuals. As investors we try to buy low, and have little interest in artificially inflating the price. As we develop products and services around Digitalcoin, the price will go up naturally. We work very well as a group, but only on projects, not market manipulation. To the best of my knowledge, as close as I've been to this project, I have never seen any group effort to manipulate markets, and I don't see it happening in the future.

Anybody know if they did a reduction in subsidy and max cap for Argentum?  That was also a Baritus coin so I'm hoping they worked on that too.

No work yet on Argentum, but some updates are planned. Argentum has some interesting characteristics, and will be a good coin to work with, but won't happen for a little while. Same with Securecoin. All three coins are now the responsibility of the Digitalcoin Foundation and will be maintained by the Foundation going forward.
