What's the advantage of this versus the web of trust on bitcoin-otc? It seems like it'd be very easy to inflate your own ranking on your site.

It'd be just as easy on #bitcoin-otc. If you get one rating, you can then rate your second nick, and bounce them back and forth. All with the privacy of /msg gribble

Normally one guy with lots of feedback from a single source is feedbacking himself.
Still, the major thing about feedbacks and WoT's is that they just give advice, doesn't take decisions and shouldn't be looking as something somebody will use with his brains switched off.

Sure, but again, the feedback system just gives you some advice, doesn't tell you to go trust blindfolded in someone.

As others already said, you should be suspicious of ratings - they are a guideline only.  But, you cannot rate yourself, and I do have ways to detect people self-rating themselves.  If you are suspicious of anyone's rating in this way, I will check it out in more detail.

I do GREATLY encourage people to leave ratings with specific websites and URLs, if any.  Specifically, I am thinking of "for sale" threads on the forums.  That will help give some verification to the transaction behind each piece of feedback, and hopefully make some of the legitimate feedback pop out more.

I am also thinking about revealing the names of the people giving ratings, to help people "self-verify" that another person's feedback is legitimate.  I would appreciate feedback (lol) of whether I should make use of that feature or not.

I had to ban a couple of people from the system for abusing it, and I am working on fixing some vulnerabilities exposed by fabianhjr's site audit.  These updates should help to prevent people from creating multiple accounts and feedbacking themselves with them.  Certainly open to other suggestions and bug-finding from other people, so let me know if you have any comments to make about the site!

I really don't know how to get feedback out of an anonymous casino, as the players and winners don't normally come out and kiss the casino owner.
For me is one of those things, as long as it stays in 0 it's already good feedback  :)

It's meant to be anonymous, so no player is identified anyway. When I look to the registered players I can only recognize 1 or 2 nicks from the forum, the rest is all scrambled.

Well... "lucky me", that bogus deposit is still unclaimed, since I don't know who did it. Probably its owner prefers to keep his anonymity over claiming it back.

Well, you can't just go around leaving feedback without a transaction!

I am going to go ahead and make all fields required for when someone is leaving feedback.  Hopefully this will encourage more legitimate feedback being left, and help me filter out the bad feedback.
