Title: the last 3 days price, the huge arb space Post by: Fioraver on December 08, 2014, 06:58:19 AM Bitfinex often has a leading price, or sometimes is LakeBTC step ahead, no matter, the key is that price gap usually is $10 between them and BTC-e. Even BTC-e has a high deposit usd fee, but if we buy btc at btc-e and sell btc at bitfinex or lakebtc, we also can earn a tidy profit, much more btc per buy, much more profits per sell. Even when you buy btc from Bitstamp, instead of BTC-e, there also $3 - $5 gap, and by use of both Bitstamp and LakeBTC are the ripple gateway, and a faster btc/usd arb via ripple. https://i.imgur.com/t2S4fMk.png Title: Re: the last 3 days price, the huge arb space Post by: kutaka on December 08, 2014, 07:05:00 AM BTC-e is too shady for me, I will not eat the risk for one buck per btc.

The price likely represents the cost of getting your money in and out of the exchange. I think it's safe to assume that these fees erase most of the arbitrage potential. who make profits from it? share with experience with us? I always cringe when I read these sort of statements. Why is BTC-e shady? Is it because they're anonymous? Isn't that ironically in the spirit of Bitcoin, being anonymous? They have been on the exchange scene for longer than many exchanges, and I have never had a bad experience with them. They offer a solution for people to exchange without the user having to provide their ID's and contact info, just like Bitcoin was meant to be used. I trust them more than any other exchange. This tells you what the real costs of Bitcoin transactions are. Looks like they're about $10 per round trip, in and out of Bitcoin, or, at current prices, about 3%. This is an inefficient market by modern financial standards. This is an inefficient market by modern financial standards. It depends on the quantity of bitcoin you transfer in and out of fiat. Wire transfers usually charge the same for any transfer, no matter how big or small. However, they can take a week to complete which is really inefficient and ruins arbitrage opportunities. If you have an account with a US stockbroker that's also a bank, they know you, and you have a reasonable balance there, wire transfers happen very fast.Title: Re: the last 3 days price, the huge arb space Post by: Francesca on December 12, 2014, 07:16:57 AM Bitfinex often has a leading price, or sometimes is LakeBTC step ahead, no matter, the key is that price gap usually is $10 between them and BTC-e. I also think so, every arbitrage costs are fixed. the more time arbitrage, the less marginal cost |
