Title: Is this Dank?
Post by: malaimult on December 09, 2014, 02:49:54 AM
It is pretty well known that Dank was recently banned on here (I think for trolling).

Another thing about him that is pretty well known is that he tried to get people to invest aka lend him a lot of money for a music festival.

Now all of a sudden we have a newbie asking for a   2 million fiat loan (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=886769.0) to pay for a music festival. This does not appear to be the traditional newbie loan scam that is common in the lending section. The posts are in more or less proper engligh (most new loan scams are in broken enligh), and are much longer then other newbie loan requests.

Even though the project concept is flawed, it does appear some level of though went into these posts.

The user's profile is Festival Investment (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=400874)

Well it is defiantly not your usual lending scam (it is still clearly a scam though).

Do you think it is probably someone trolling for attention?

Maybe BadBear could compare dank's usual IP range and/or browser to this person (I think dank said he connects with his phone which I think would be a pretty uncommon way that most people connect)

Nah, it's not Dank. If it was, the post would be filled with talk about universal spiritual karma or something like that.

Apparently it's https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=291126

^ Was just about to say I've seen this exact same loan request before here. Was wondering if it was a copypasta, but yeah, probably not dank (don't think he's into EDM or put this much thought into it :D).

Music industry promotors etc, aren't they all shysters? The EDM scene is especially rank (has something to do with the drugs?)

Since when do they ban anyone for promoting bullshit schemes in here anyways though?
