Title: Considering accept Bitcoins for services - recommendations?
Post by: MA3A on December 10, 2014, 06:01:44 AM
Hello,
 I am considering accepting bitcoin as payment for services (IT) and would like to hear any feedback from some one who already doing it and perhaps recommendation of any merchant service...
 Googled up a few things but they want you to buy something the SELL... i would like to hear users feedback from particular platform or something.
 On coinbase site it looks like it can be integrated in to a Intuit QUICKBOOKS... (?)

 Any input is appreciated.

HI, thats a good idea.

I have experience from the other side (like customer) and can say its very convenient to pay using bitcoins. Only issue occur, when bitcoin price drop or rise suddenly and you havent agreed on exact value.
From this point its good to agree on the final price (either in BTC or in USD and then pay in BTC according actual ratio)

I have read about it, also one friend of mine is actually was saying about service that allows to overcome this problem basically "fixing" rate, not sure, how it works it has been a while since have talked.
Another crucial point is to be able to accept this type of payment on the go (talking about "SQUARE" like)
I have found a couple interesting articles but still researching... jeez-a-lot of reading...

It is easiest to accept bitcoin through bitpay or coinbase as you won't need to worry about the ups and downs of bitcoin price. You can sign up for the free plan to test it first.

Pro's it will get you USD so you are not dealing with BTC up's and downs.  Con if you sell all your coins for USD you lose a upside when bitcoin goes up.

I don't think there is a whole lot of con's.  You can decide how much you want in cash or btc.

The pro is that makes taking bitcoin payment very easy.
You don't need to make your own bitcoin wallet, keep tracking the bitcoin price constantly, generate a new address and calculate the bitcoin required for every new order, and make backup of your wallet regularly. All these will be done by Coinbase or Bitpay or any other service providers.

I would suggest BitPay {They have shown proof of attending to $1 000 000 single transactions for customers}

They doing a good job and they have a good track record in the community already.  ;D
