Title: ok, lets atalk again, about recovering a wallet with my btc in it.
Post by: cabinetmaker on December 12, 2014, 08:38:39 AM
I signed up on a site, and sent btc to my wallet there.
Next day, the account doesn't show up, and it will not accept my login info.

so, I have the wallet number I sent the btc to, and the password that goes with it.

how do I recover my btc?

if it is lost, I am going to be really pissed and have the site shut down, if at all possible.

also, moderators of the site, apparently don't give a rats patatootie about their customers and there forum is just as bad.

In looking at the site cookies (on tor...sorry I forgot to mention), one cookie is named "evidence".

wouldn't you think that was a set up by the feds? I know I am more than suspicious.

pm me and I'll tell you the site name.

If you don't have the private key you don't have the bitcoin. Best you can do is hope the site isn't a scam and someone there can help you recover the btc.

By wallet number I assume you mean the publick key (the address that is used). That wont help you, otherwise anybody can access it. You need the private kety to access your funds.

What site did you sign up on?  That might help a little for us to know that.

if you don't wanna reveal the name of the site, at least tell us WHY did you send bitcoin to the site? or in other words what kind of site was it?

I think it would be better for you if you released the site publicly.

So we can all stay away from it.

In agreement, if we don't have enough information to help you we can't do much about it
Also it would prevent others from making the same mistake.

pm me and I'll tell you the site name.

I have sent you a PM.

Assessing the current info, if you can't access your account and the moderators of site do not help you recover your account balance, you're out of luck.

That's why staying away from online wallets is generally a good idea. If you don't control the private keys, you don't control your coins.

Why do you keep the website secret?
if you feel aggrieved, you can show the website and blamed together.

I have all the keys and private information I need. I am not a rip off, and am not trying to steal someone's btc. I am not a liar, or cheater.
I don't smoke, drink, or do drugs, either. I don't even drink f'ing coffee.

I didn't want to mention the site, until I had exhausted every attempt at recovering my btc. No sense in ruining someone's reputation because of my stupidity, if, indeed, it was my fault.

funny to you, serious to me. If you are the law, I don't want you to know jack sh*t. And it wouldn't be any of your business anyway.
One site is basically the same as all the rest. You can either recover it or you can't.

This can be removed as I found a way to recover my btc and did.

How?

you figure it out. I had to. And there IS a way. But I DID have help.

thanks for your help, or lack of it, anyway.

You people ask us not to judge, but you judge right off the bat.

That's called being a hipocrate.

some of yo made legit statements and have legit questions, the rest are bullshit statements.

Either the site has terrible support, or it is a scam site. Trying searching "site name scam" on google to see if someone has the same problem as you.

Bitcoin transaction is not reversible, and so you can't reverse an already confirmed transaction.

you can buy a cheap and very secure hardware-wallet and store your coins there:
