It work but we have now no Nodes, we are working on that

It would be nice if some Users can post their IP so i can add them to the HARDCODED NODES before Launch.

DON'T FORGET, PLEASE POST ONE OR MORE IP HERE, WE WOULD ADD THEM TO THE HARDCODED NODES. USERS CAN CONNECT THEM WITH --add-peer IP IF THEY DON'T GET ANY CONNECTION. THIS IS A MAIN REASON WHY SOME CN COINS FAILED.

WINDOWS

Create .bat file with this TEXT:

Code:
doctorbyted.exe --add-peer IP[e.g. doctorbyted.ddns.net]

LINUX

Code:
./doctorbyted --add-peer IP[e.g. doctorbyted.ddns.net]

That is ok about 13 Coins per Block now. You forgot to refresh so it was loading all the Coins you mined from Block 1 to NOW

when mining starts?

NOW:

Download the Coin, start doctorbyted.exe. Start simplewallet.exe and follow the instructions. When you are synced (you see that in doctorbyted.exe e.g. 2014-Dec-14 20:49:12.548094 [P2P6][207.245.41.195:34708 INC] SYNCHRONIZED OK) write start_mining in simplewallet.exe

I think there's a mistake these letters.
"A" - "D" - "E" - E - "H" - H - "R" - "T" - T - "U"
DAUGHTER  (G is missing)
left chars are basically; THE

"THE DAUGHTER" I guess.

edit; also Jenny was the doctor's daughter. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jenny_(Doctor_Who) ;D

Have Connection Problems ?

Here are two solutions:

Download https://bitbucket.org/doctorbyte/doctorbyte/downloads/p2pstate.bin (https://bitbucket.org/doctorbyte/doctorbyte/downloads/p2pstate.bin) and replace it

Create a .bat file with this Text:

Code:
doctorbyted.exe --add-peer doctorbyted.ddnst.net[/center]

[center][b]If it still no work, i need to build a emergency patch[/b][/center]

As there's no pool, just for the kicks, I've made one at dbpool.mooo.com (http://dbpool.mooo.com).

For those with trouble syncing, delete yojur p2pstate.bin while the daemon isn't running, then start the daemon again, that should help.

The seed at ddns.net is already set in the source as a default.

This daemon seems to also die on exit, so save before exiting to avoid having to resync.

For the information, I just found my first block, and the block reward was 4.39.

At 40 seconds per block, that's about 9500 coins per day.

If you still can't sync after delete p2pstate.bin, I guess you can try the pool instead :D

I know deleting it solved it for me.

I think the difficulty update algorithm is a bit slow to update.
The pool has about 5 times the nominal hash rate of the whole network.
This is caused by the difficulty being slow to increase after a sharp increase in the real hash rate.
We're getting a block every 8 seconds here at the moment, compared to the expected 40 seconds average.
It'll be interesting to see when the difficulty algorithm catches up.
We're also getting a number of orphans, presumably due to the fast block time. An interesting test bed for cryptonote.

We could try to change the Block Speed to 60 or 150 seconds, changing the Network ID and maby the diff algo there would be a Hard_Fork in the Network. This should help, I would say we wait to the new Wallet (2days) and if the difficulty is still wrong i would create the Hard_Fork Wallet or i change only the DIFFICULTY_WINDOW

Sure, I wasn't saying it's broken. The jump in hash rate was certainly a sudden cliff.
The network hash rate was staying within 1.8-1.9 kH/s, it's started to go up now, currently 2.4 kH/s, so it looks like it's working :)

Blocks found stay maturing for 60 blocks, so you should see your pending balance increase after a found block you hashed for matures (and is not an orphan). At the moment, it takes about 1 hour and a half. See
http://dbpool.mooo.com/#pool_blocks for the list of blocks, and you can get an idea of when a block you hashed for matures.

start_mining <address> <threads> in the daemon.

For the pool hash rate, it counts an average of submitted shares over the last... 20 minutes I think.
If you've waited at least that long, then it does sound odd if it never goes above that.

Why Spam ? We use a better Ring Signature and a better Block Calculation, we have 25Million Coins.

What is DoctorCoin never head for that.

Can't do that, they're pool miners. You could run your own pool though, but then you'd run into the same thing.

Oh, what did you change to the ring signatures ? I thought there were just changes to the emission config.

The sources fail to compile for me on Linux with GCC 4.8.3 and also with GCC 4.7.3.
The error which is returned is the following.

Linking CXX executable connectivity_tool
/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/4.8.3/../../../../x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/bin/ld: /tmp/ccA2vwBK.ltrans4.ltrans.o: undefined reference to symbol 'pthread_mutexattr_settype@@GLIBC_2.2.5'
/lib64/libpthread.so.0: error adding symbols: DSO missing from command line
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
src/CMakeFiles/connectivity_tool.dir/build.make:99: recipe for target 'src/connectivity_tool' failed

The build also fails when trying with clang version 3.3 and this is the similar error.

Linking CXX executable connectivity_tool
CMakeFiles/connectivity_tool.dir/connectivity_tool/conn_tool.cpp.o: file not recognized: File format not recognized
clang: error: linker command failed with exit code 1 (use -v to see invocation)
src/CMakeFiles/connectivity_tool.dir/build.make:99: recipe for target 'src/connectivity_tool' failed

I've seen some hints in Google to repair the Makefile and link pthread at the the very end in order to make it work.
Has someone else already ran into this and fixed it? If so, would you kindly submit a pull request to the repository.

Thanks,
-Chicago

I am working on a new Source Code, this problem i don't have with Linux. What Linux you use ?
Have you installed the things i posted in the first post ?
It would be great if you create a pull request if you find a fix for that.
But when the new Source Code is uploaded it is not necessary. I have some problem with the build at Windows with the new Source, this is now the most important thing for me

New cryptonote flavors are always welcome!

If you need a hand at the UI, I have a wrapper using QT that can be used with (nearly) ANY cryptonote.

The dev (or anyone) might consider requesting a block explorer from chainradar.com and adding it to the minergate.com pool list.

Beefier security with more one-time addresses is definitely making this coin a bit more unique.

Also, consider starting something simple like a logo contest to gain more interest.

1,If you use the "--add-peer", first delete the "p2pstate.bin".(The first doctorbyted.exe, no syn, can restart several times, each time in about 5 minutes, may be synchronized)
2,No syn, have a look the log file doctorbyted.log, what error?

can't sync!  :'(

I replaced the bin file but does not work. I also added doctorbyted.exe --add-peer doctorbyted.ddnst.net but does not work!

http://s22.postimg.org/6yv8ldzg1/aaa.jpg

Try it with doctorbyted.exe --add-peer dbpool.mooo.com
The ddns peer is down my ISP crashed. Now i have only 4G Internet on my Mobile. Don't know when DSL is available again

It does not work and closes instantly!   :(
same problem with doctorbyted.ddnst.net

http://s27.postimg.org/4ras4gecz/aaaa.jpg

Hmm, that should work try this:

doctorbyted.exe --add-peer 86.160.45.210
Or
doctorbyted.exe --add-peer 86.160.45.210:7878

Hmm, that should work try this:

doctorbyted.exe --add-peer 86.160.45.210
Or
doctorbyted.exe --add-peer 86.160.45.210:7878

Normal it work with Domain Name without Port.

I am going to ask dbpool to what IP's he is synced. I would add them to the HardCoded Nodes/Peers.

I would try to upload the Files with my mobile

I've just opened 7878 on my firewall, it was closed.
Restarting the daemon now, it seems to be redownloading chain, not sure what's going on... But you should be able to connect to it soon.

It's connected to 176.57.143.70 at the moment, the only peer.

Edit: daemon running again, should be reachable now on dbpool.mooo.com:7878. The pool seems to be moaning about blocks higher than the chain height which is a bit worrying. Hopefully will sort itself out :P
I'll be keeping an eye here in case there are still issues syncing.

So the pool seems to have not liked the restart/resync and thinks it's found 9 different blocks for height 12774 :D
I hope it won't break when they mature.

Anyway, could you point me to the code where Doctorbyte uses more stealth addresses ? I looked, but did not find anything.

1. We have a new Source Code in few days (maby today), with the new Source it's not possible to have 25Million Coins because we would have Genenis Error and all Block needed to be reset (Back to Block 1). We work to fix this, but until that we have 18 Million Coins
2. We wait for a reply

Sorry, my daemon crashed overnight. It's back up now.

I'll be updating to the latest code this morning. I'll bump the fees by half a percent to cater for the increased tx fee. I'll also decrease the expected time to share as I think the current setup makes for large variations in payout distribution as some blocks are solved so fast that only one miner gets to submit a share for it.

At doctorbyte's request, I placed Linux (Fedora) binaries of that latest version at http://dbpool.mooo.com/doctorbyte.tar.xz. This contains the daemon and wallet. No guarantees they work for anyone, especially anyone not running Fedora. If not, you'll be better off building from git (encouraged for all anyway).
The pool is now running those binaries.

have a problem with the wallet here. I seem to be unable to send anything, even after rescanning from scratch. Any tx seems to be rejected by the daemon, claiming the outputs are already spent. This started after I did another round of dust consolidation which large split txs (I'm not sure if this is the reason or just chance timing). Most of the balance is now unlocked, but it can't be used it seems.

So I suggest that people stop mining at my pool for the time being till I work out what the problem is, as I am unable to send anything :(

OK, it seems fixed. The local pool state was shot to bits it seems. I could now send the txs, and then the pool payouts should follow. Not sure why the pool state got corrupt though. Phew, got a scare here :)

The sources fail to compile for me on Linux with GCC 4.8.3 and also with GCC 4.7.3.
The error which is returned is the following.

Linking CXX executable connectivity_tool
/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/4.8.3/../../../../x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/bin/ld: /tmp/ccA2vwBK.ltrans4.ltrans.o: undefined reference to symbol 'pthread_mutexattr_settype@@GLIBC_2.2.5'
/lib64/libpthread.so.0: error adding symbols: DSO missing from command line
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
src/CMakeFiles/connectivity_tool.dir/build.make:99: recipe for target 'src/connectivity_tool' failed

The build also fails when trying with clang version 3.3 and this is the similar error.

Linking CXX executable connectivity_tool
CMakeFiles/connectivity_tool.dir/connectivity_tool/conn_tool.cpp.o: file not recognized: File format not recognized
clang: error: linker command failed with exit code 1 (use -v to see invocation)
src/CMakeFiles/connectivity_tool.dir/build.make:99: recipe for target 'src/connectivity_tool' failed

I've seen some hints in Google to repair the Makefile and link pthread at the the very end in order to make it work.
Has someone else already ran into this and fixed it? If so, would you kindly submit a pull request to the repository.

Thanks,
-Chicago

I am working on a new Source Code, this problem i don't have with Linux. What Linux you use ?
Have you installed the things i posted in the first post ?
It would be great if you create a pull request if you find a fix for that.
But when the new Source Code is uploaded it is not necessary. I have some problem with the build at Windows with the new Source, this is now the most important thing for me

Hello,

I am using Gentoo Linux and while trying to solve the issue -- I had tried a few permutations of GCC 4.7, 4.8, CMake 2.8, 3.0 and Boost v1.53, v1.55.

Ultimately, this fix was the solution which permits the CryptoNote sources to build. :)

You will want to patch these into your repository.
I would submit a pull request if your repo were on Github.

We have this allready in the new SourceCode:

elseif(NOT MSVC)
  set(Boost_LIBRARIES "${Boost_LIBRARIES};rt;pthread")
endif()

You know that you are toooooooo late, the new SoucrCode is out now and has no error.

Thank you very much your help.

Nobody was banned on that pool.
It could be that your ISP has a lot of lag in updating DNS, as the pool's IP address changed a few hours before your post (because my ISP likes to be a pain I think). Normally the new address propagates with 10-15 minutes but it's possible your ISP took a while to update.

On another note, I also get a white page for the website, with Firefox. With white text, which only visible if you select all text.

Leave it for at least 1 hour. It seems that it is frozen, but eventually you'll see the message "You are now synchronized with the network"

Can you be more specific ? The pool is running fine just now, and there are others mining on it, as already mentioned.

Are you talking about the web frontend, or the mining port, or both ?
In both cases, what form does the "can't access" have ? An error message, or timeout (which one, by what software ?) The current pool IP is 86.160.41.211, in case you're getting a wrong resolution. Mining is open on port 5555.

That sounds great.
I'm working to build one GUI that could work on Windows, Linux and Mac, but that is not easy.

We could just implement the HTML Wallet from BB, that would be the easiest way.

We need to spread awareness and get more miners. Such a shame not to distribute this cool coin to many people before it hits the exchange.

You need to do "exit". That command saves automatically.
But you can do "save" also. This saves at any moment, not only on the exit of the program .

New hashrate 60 KH/sec. On track

That large miner(s) seems to have left the network though, so we're stuck with a sky high difficulty till it drops again.

I still see a Network Speed about 60kh/s

Yes, that's the trouble. Network hash is derived from the difficulty [1], and it will go down slowly as the difficulty algorithm realizes that blocks are coming in very slowly, because that 60 kH/s is not there anymore.

12:45:11 73447
14:21:24 73448
16:09:18 73449
19:27:04 73450

Looks like about a block every hour and a half today. And it will be so till enough blocks are found at this rate for the difficulty adjustment mechanism to bring diff down.

[1] That was one thing that needed updating from the CN code in commit c542b91a8a72982a77f46ffd71c3bf17b18ec0c5

Just got home and must agree you, the big miner is away.

The commit has nothing to do with the diff, it just changed the Hashrate calculation in the deamon ( a log_print )

I'm not sure what you want that i change there (commit a pull requests)

I'm working now on a solution

EDIT: As we still finding finding Blocks, I would say that i just change the diff window to 1 Block. As a temporary change

Sorry, I was unclear. This was just a side reference to an example of the hash rate being derived from difficulty, rather than something the network "knows".

I was just commenting on the delay between hash rate loss and difficulty, I did not want you to change anything in particular. I'm not sure it's worth changing the window now tbh. The diff will drop at some point, I'm just not sure how much time it'll take.

Just a note to say the pool is now stopped, as no miners there for a couple days and I need the RAM.
