Title: Problem with the blockchain
Post by: K210 on December 17, 2014, 11:20:56 AM
The last block was found over one hour ago. Isn't 1 block mean't to be generated every 10 minutes? this is getting very annoying as i have a large transaction stuck on the blockchain.

10 minutes is a average time: the real block time can be 1 second or x hours
more than 1,5 hours is rare but relatively normal  ;)

Patience is a virtue. You need to understand that the 10 minute block time is only an average.

No it would not be better to decrease the block time as that would make each block much less secure and overall less security for the network

Indeed, I wouldn't worry too much.

1 block confirmation can sometimes take 10-40 minutes. So you should always expect that delay and send.
