Pros:

- Easiest setup possible.
- Build quality 10/10.
- Simple yet functional web UI.
- Very stable/maintenance free. (so far)
- Autotuning feature is nice.
- Easy to over/underclock.

Cons:

- Fan is incredibly loud and the speed is unchangeable.
- Fan connector not standard.
- Very temperature sensitive.
- Help page seems lacking.
- Packaging. Not impressed with the cardboard padding.

Overall: 8/10 (9/10 with fan replacement)

Although it's not perfect, I will say it's better than any other miner I've owned. My main issue with the sp20 is the noise. I know many have complained about it but I was genuinely surprised by how loud it is. I'm sure it would be much more tolerable if I was able to lower the fan speed, but at it's current setting (80%?) it's far too loud to be a home miner.

Overall I'm very impressed. I can officially confirm that all the hype about SP-tech gear is warranted. I will definitely consider buying their next gen hardware but only if they address the noise issue.

Update:

Could never get the fan settings to change (SSH didn't work either) but I think I found a better solution by just changing the fan.

First I tried a 1W Noctua fan but it was struggling to keep it cool. The miner had to throttle the hashrate even below 900 GH/s.

Then I tried an old Cooler Master fan I had lying around and found it works perfectly.

edit: Just remembered the CM fan is running on 5V not 12V so it should be around 2W.

As you can see, at ~5 meters away from the miner, you can just barely hear it. Now it sounds like your average desktop PC instead of your average leaf blower.

It's been running stable for 24 hours now at ~1105 GH/s.

How can you not be impressed with the cardboard padding? What would be a better packaging in your view?

Also you can change the fan speed in Settings tab. How come you can't change it?

Agree, the cardboard padding is very impressive. You can judge how serious the company from their packaging.

Foam padding seems to be the industry standard when shipping electronics.

Hey jimmothy you have to restart minergate after setting the fan, it doesn't adjust on the fly.

Tried that as well as rebooting and turning off and on the psus.

LOL trust you to get the only one that doesn't adjust the fan.

this may help your fan setting - goxed managed to find a way to change it by ssh into it, if your GUI settings don't change the fan, this will.

yes I get good numbers under .47 watts a gh  fans are  12 and 15.  

I am doing super under clocks all six machines are doing about 495-515 watts  and about 1004 - 1071 gh  temps are good.  but 6 in a two car garage are still pretty noisy around  65db

It's great to see you were able to tweak and get the db level down.
It's still funny (but unintended!) that you got a miner with bad fan control.

Not sure how did you connect the new fan? 
I don't see any screws.
Is the fan latched on existing structure or did you remove the existing fan-picture is not clear.

The stock fan was removed and the Cooler Master is attached with screws on the inside. (Top two only)

I am wondering what will happen if you leave the stock and add 1 more fan on the front

I noticed you said the unit is running at 1100 GH, is this normal? Can I exoect to be stable at the advertised 1700GH?  I am consideredering placing a large order of 45 units or 3 farms, so please advise.

Also the website promises delivery 2 business days after payment, is this something that will be sure to happen as well?  Thanks in advance!

You can run it stable at 1600+, a little bit under 1700, however, for that to happen you have to ensure that the units are cooled properly.
The ASICS page captured above, shows that the unit there is running hot. The SP20 likes cooler intake temperatures and the fan setting at rather high speed (80%) for a max hashrate setup. Also, make sure you have adequate PSU(s) for those settings. The high efficiency some people got and bragged about in the forums was not obtained at maximum hashrate and/or with the stock fan replaced.  

Make sure you have a good connection to the pool you're using. With no pool connection the unit stops hashing. IMHO, if you're able to maintain the mining environment under control you won't have any problems. Shipping is by DHL/Fedex .. depending on your location. If you have to pay duty fees or tax, the average time to have the units at your door it's a little bit longer due to customs clearance (3-4 days since pick-up). They're quick though, way quicker than any other during this holiday season. BTW, the new year might break your timeline .. DHL/Fedex have their holidays too ..

I have 7 in house  1700 is really hard to do  with all 7 in a home.  
I could do it if I lived alone with my wife around it is a no go.
If you have a sliding door  to outside winter air you could do 15 easy and pretty safe. you need to supply 15 x 1200 watts. = 18 kwatts and get 24th

Now if you have a proper setup with really cold into the miners say 10 c  input air  that is about 50f

and great way to pull the heat out.  you will be able to approach 1650-1700.  the gear will pull 1200 watts  and you will need really good power supplies.

Now with a sliding door and proper setup you can do 20 at 750 watts = 15 kwatts and get 20 x 1350 gh = 27th

  so think 750-800 watts and 1350gh   easy  to do  or 1200-1250 watts and 1675gh hard to do

order on a monday early and it will show on thur sometime on weds.

Can't wait to get one to play with....waiting on taxes.  Need my garage warmer back.  Sound wouldn't be audible from a garage connected to the house, would it?  I could always turn my tv up like I used to with my S1's.  Thanks for all the info.  Twittling my thumbs in the meanwhile.

It depends on your settings/fan.

If it's overclocked (1600+ gh/s) you will need to use the stock fan at 80%+ which was just barely audible through the wall.

If you have it underclocked you can lower the fan speed which should help a bit. (well I couldn't because I'm cursed with fans but you should be able to).

Even better would be underclocking and replacing the fan which made my miner nearly silent. I can now work in my garage for hours without being bothered and/or wearing earmuffs.

Although replacing the fan is likely only an option when you're underclocking because I doubt you'll find a quieter 30W fan.

in garage setting... If I push all of these to full clock, it's heard in the bedroom above (which isn't used) but at the settings i have them at... can't hear them when the garage door is closed... total ~11.5TH/s (with 2 x SP10 in colo)
