Title: Used vs New ASIC MINER Post by: JohnRaccoon on December 18, 2014, 09:09:43 PM Hello guys! I want to buy an ASIC Miner to start mining. But there on eBay are cheap, with a pretty high hash rate and wich are used. I would buy a used one to save money. Should I buy an used ASIC or a new one? And why? ??? Sorry, I'm new in the BitCoin BTC business.

IMO mine as a hobby and grab an S3 from kijiji or a "New Rbox" from Rockminer.com Title: Re: Used vs New ASIC MINER Post by: ChuckBuck on December 18, 2014, 09:59:15 PM The real question is are you mining for profit (non-existent at the moment) or are you mining for hobby?
If you're mining to attempt to get ROI (won't happen), you need to know what your electrical costs are and factor that into your miner purchasing decision. If you're mining for hobby just to tell the cool kids "Hey look at me. I'm a Bitcoin miner!" then you should get the most energy efficient miner possible. Think watts per Hash, the smaller the better. Starting out, I'd definitely go used since they're cheaper and if you're getting something small first like an S3 or Rockminer. If your electricity is higher efficiency on new gear will be nice.
So some can get a deals others will lose money all depends on that electricity cost. Title: Re: Used vs New ASIC MINER Post by: Gleb Gamow on December 24, 2014, 05:11:13 AM Hello guys! Also, is the season opened year round, or closed for a couple weeks so that they can rut? Either way, I bagged me two today. May opt to mount one. Fuck it! I'll mount 'em both. Anybody know of a good sockpuppet taxidermist? |
