Title: Bringing WoT to some use.
Post by: turvarya on December 19, 2014, 09:48:58 AM
I was looking at http://solarcoin.org/ and realized it has a yellow circle as WoT-rating.
Looking into it, there is some idiot, claiming it is a porn site.
So, i gave it a good rating to make up for that idiot.
So, I was wondering if there are some other sites related to cryptocurrency, which might have no or even a bad rating and I could throw in a vote, to make it better.
Does anyone else use WoT and could also use his votes?
I also recently gave http://beidola.com/ a bad vote(clearly a scam-site)
I am starting a list for sites that need votes, every suggestion is welcome(I am looking for sites, that don't already have enough votes):

Good sites:
http://solarcoin.org/

Bad sites:
http://beidola.com/
http://pbmining.com/

Please hit up pbmining.com with a red for non-payouts and suspected pyramid (and hashie.co as well)

WoT?

World Of Tanks comes up a lot on google, perhaps that is what you mean? p.s. I do know what you mean but my pet peeve is people who use somewhat obscure abbreviations in public forms and expects that everyone know what they mean :P .

I used to use the WOT but I do not use it anymore. The browsers now some with comparable WOT style tings already worked in. Plus as you are doing, those WOT rating can easily be fiddled with. So sometimes you still ahve to take the time to go thru and look at all the ratings to see if a site is worth it to try and access. For em id rather have a more automatic situation like in chrome, it tells me if the site is not verified, if its not authenticated and all that good stuff that should throw a red flag.

What the hell is this premined coin?

premined is the amount of coins they used upon the coins release, so they distributed 250,000 coins on the release it and has a 25 million cap it had a 1% premine. they are basically coins that were mined before mining was operational to get the blockchain moving.

What the hell is this premined coin?

Sorry, premine and ICO coins go right to the top of the untrustworthy list.

What the hell is this premined coin?

It's not a premined coin. It's a browser plugin that crowdsources trust reviews of websites and warns users when there is a consensus that a site is, well, evil.

although i knew for 2 years now that WOT could be faked with lots of fake user rep points.. this topic is proving it by giving away free positive rep, without anyone really using the service..

stuff like this ruins what was once known as accurate true reputation.. and will make people believe the rating systems even less. i think people should only rate each other when an actual transaction occurs.

that way people dont give bad rep on just opinion that a site is a porn site without using it

that way people dont give good rep on just opinion that a site is honourable without using it
