Title: Xmas Gift Ideas
Post by: bitkilo on December 22, 2014, 05:38:30 AM
Hi guys, I know i'm a bit late with this but i always leave everything to the last minute.
Can members please give me some gift ideas for xmas, but only things i can purchase with bitcoins.
After been told all year by family that bitcoin is nothing but a fad that won't last i have gone out and bought them all presents with nothing but BTC this year.
I only have a few presents left to get and so far all but 1 has been paid for with BTC.
If they don't accept that im right about BTC then they don't get there present, well maybe.

A physical Bitcoin, although that might be a little too much for a gift and might be too late to order, unless you can get it directly from someone.
I have a Kialara, and I consider it part of my soul. She's really beautiful.  8)

At least in my family or with my friends, nobody will know where or how to use it.

+1 on the physical Bitcoin idea. It's a fun way to see an "actual" Bitcoin. And it actually looks like it's worth something :D

Yeah i have said this somewhere once before, good idea but when they want to spend it they will want me to help, if they dont spend the whole amount then i'll have to explain where the change will go. It will never end.
Also they will probably want to spend it somewhere btc is not accepted and that will just start them saying bitcoin is no good again.

Though it's a nice present to you and I, if they think bitcoin is a fad I doubt they're going to be impressed with some bitcoin, though maybe you could give them some in the hope that they'll be proven wrong and will thank you later.

One of the most popular last minute gifts is gift cards (Starbucks gift card sales are the highest on December 24).

You can get one at gyft.com

You can get them on this forum at a very steep discount, but I guess you run the risk of them being purchased using stolen credit cards or something so you need to take that into consideration.

A trezor is a good idea if they are already using BTC.   I think the best gifts are things that people would use, but would not be likely to buy themselves...

Read OP before posting, bitcoin would not be a good idea in this case.
Your account is obviously just for the sig payments, you never write more than a few words on each post.

I don't think this would serve the purpose of the point that the OP is trying to make. The OP is trying to buy something that you can only buy with bitcoin, however to someone without bitcoin, nor any interest in bitcoin, a physical coin has very little value.

IMO the best thing would be to buy gift cards from gyft while making a point that you were able to get a discount

Thanks malaimult, i have already bought a few gift cards from gyft, looks like most family members will be getting gift cards this year.
Hopefully next year there wont be any limits to what you can buy with bitcoin, maybe people will even ask for BTC next year as a present.
