Sounds like your blockchain got corrupted and the wallet client is syncing it from start but you haven't lost any coins.
Just in case take a backup of your wallet.dat and try to -reindex it. Just launch it with
Bitcoin-qt -reindex from cmd windows or terminal linux

Actually this is a big trouble, sometimes even you can not re-index it, backup your blockchain data periodically

Looks like your blockchain got corrupted. You might have to delete the blockchain files from your computer and have to resync from the start.

This happens to me all the time. Especially if you turn off the PC while bitcoin-qt is running. :D

If you have the wallet.dat file safe or backed up, your coins are not going anywhere.
The blockchain data might have been corrupted and it will be fine once it completes syncing.

Just to be on a safer side, take a backup of the wallet file now if you haven't already done so. If you have teh wallet file or the private keys, you're fine.
