Title: Looking to Get into Ripple. Help?
Post by: chipmadness on December 23, 2014, 04:53:57 AM
Hello community!

I been hearing so much about Ripple lately and I just wanted to ask you,

whats your opinion about Ripple? One ripple right now is worth

1 Ripple = $.024 USD

How much do you think one Ripple will hit? Do you think it will help Bitcoin or be a competitor? Are you invested in it? Are you excited for it to be fully released? Is it a good investment at the moment?

Thanks community!

Happy Holidays

Ripple is a completely different animal than Bitcoin.  it's not a cryptocurrency, doesn't have a blockchain, etc.  It may have some utility but quite frankly I don't understand why they need a native token.  Hopefully it does make bitcoin easier to get into but I would personally never invest in it.

I believe it's to reduce spam, so each transaction has a minute cost.

I have always wondered what was so appealing in Ripple.

Maybe chipmadness can enlight me.

Ripple has a sort of central bank (the founders) that own over 80% of the existing XRP. So you need to trust them and hope they won't flood the market with there xrp. You also need to trust gateways. That's alot of third parties you need to trust.

Ripple as a technology may be interestering. Ripple as an investment doesn't make sense imo.

I gave up on altcoins almost 3 months back.
Bitcoin seems to have a hard time for adoption. I think, with ripple or any other coin it would be more hard.

Obi Wan Kenobi: You don't want to get into Ripple... you want to go home and rethink your life.

OP, I am sure Ripple has brilliant technology and promising future. But it is up to you to make your investment decision if you can afford the loss in case some reverse scenario occurs.

They have a lot to distribute, however, the market is sooooo thin that if one whale comes in, they can push the price to $0.07 and you will of missed the boat.  This is because I don't see XRP going that high in price for a while.  All the high pumps will soon falter with dumps and Ripple Labs knows this.  They want to have a nice rising stable XRP to provide health to the network.

Don't listen to me but I'd like to have a few thousand XRP's now and be able to do all my trading and investments inside my ripple wallet far into the future. (Gold, Silver, BTC, Ruble(lol) anything all together in one place)
