When you compare the artistic merit and dedication that went into mainstream films compared to porn films, it's pretty apparent that porn films tend to be of much lower quality with much less work put into them. We make fun of poor-quality films like Plan 9 From Outer Space and The Room. But when it's a porn film, nobody cares. Why is this so? Different genres of film are supposed to elicit certain reactions. Porn films are meant to be arousing. Comedy films are meant to be funny. Action films are meant to be exhilarating. So why can't there be porn films that have as much thought and effort put into them as your typical comedy or action film? Title: Re: Why do porn films suck so much? So, what director in their right mind would spend millions on a porn film, when it's only going to reach a limited(above 18 hopefully) audience, and will be looked at mostly for free. But we have to say that in the past ( 80's , early 90's ) there were more porn movies with a plot... maybe not so elaborated, but however a little plot. Nowadays the sexually explicit parts take all the time. |
