Title: [GEEKY] in-band messaging and micro tips
Post by: TeslaUa on June 28, 2012, 09:51:08 PM
Hi.

In-band_signaling (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In-band_signaling) is when you send additional data of different type in the same channel with main. For example this picture of xUSSR Venus probe has telemetry embeded in the surface image:

There has been already some occasions of sending messages in blockchain. Including sending ASCII codes and I have seen several 13117 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leet) transactions myself.

What if we kinda standardize them? BIP anyone?

Let's say the escape sequence (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Escape_sequence) should be two zeroes in a row and the message code should be expected to be found in the least significant decimals. That could produce many false positives but we are tight in 8 decimals after comma. The decode table could be something like this:
1-with love/respect
2-keep up the good work
3-[you name it]

These nano-bits also double as tiny tips ;)
