Title: Which GLBSE mining companies are upgrading to BFL?
Post by: DiabloD3 on June 29, 2012, 01:47:06 AM
I'm trying to build a list of whos upgrading and whos not.

I know BTCMC, Gigamining, and BTC-Mining are, and BFLS/BFLS.RIG are going to upgrade their units. Who else is?

Edit: Results from the thread thus far:

Is upgrading:
BTCMC
Gigamining
BTC-Mining -> 200mh/share
BFLS/BFLS.RIG
NastyMining -> 20mh/share
Cognitive
PIMP -> 20mh/share
HydroMining -> 215mh/share
MergedMining
RSM
007
Synergy

Maybe:
YABMC

Is not/Cant:
BitBond
GreenBTC
Zeta-Mining
PureMining

YABMC and BITBOND have not announced upgrade plans. BITBOND has only video cards so it won't be easy for him.

Cognitive is raising a motion (which will surely pass) soon to upgrade our seven FPGA Singles. Keep up with the thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=67547.msg989639#msg989639) and site (http://cognitivemining.com/) for the latest info!

Based on their dividends payouts.. I think Nasty is mining on hopes and dreams right now.

GreenBTC will upgrade/Purchase ONLY after BFL starts to ship its new line and its performance claims are confirmed.

Currently 100% BFL FREE

it's also important to know how much % of their total hashpower is bfl sc upgradeable. some companies say they will upgrade but don't give info if  5% or 100%  of their current hardware is eligible for upgrades.

PIMP is upgrading 8 singles. 100% will be upgraded, hopefully in one shipment as I really don't want to have to do a phased upgrade. Hopefully going from 1MH/s to 20MH/s if BFLs numbers are accurate  ???

Ouch.  We ordered 6 BFL Singles in mid-May and were the first to order 6 SC singles.  As of this second, we are currently not mining.  However, that will change shortly.  Once the first set of singles arrive, we will be mining at 1MH/s per share and when the upgrade happens in October, we will be mining at 20MH/s per share.  We should also be the first with SC singles, so that 20MH/s will be extremely profitable at that time.

I'm still considering paying out the hypothetical 1MH/s per share earnings as dividends like the other mining companies do, but want to avoid being labeled as a ponzi scheme by those who have made similar claims regarding Gigamining and some of the others who don't have the current hashing power to meet the terms of their contracts.

Gigamining will have both free and paid upgrade paths.

More details to come as we head towards October.

Updated op to reflect results so far.

BTW, if everyone can say what their estimated mh/share will be after upgrade, that'd be nice too.

Hydro Mining (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=85388.0) bonds should be worth 215 MH/s. Currently it's 10 Mh/s.

I have not fully worked out the new Mh/s per bond for gigamining. Please update the results accordingly.

Have a ballpark range? I want to put something there, since Giga is the biggest mining company on GLBSE

I clarified this already in my thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=79727.msg973016#msg973016): no upgrade path to ASIC for ZETA-MINING, since major part of mining power is provided by Cairnsmore1 Quads.

MergedMining will be moving to ASIC hardware as well.

I will make not estimate on future hashing power as BFL is not reliable in there esitmates for hardware that has not been built yet.

Synergy is completely Mini-Rig powered, and our underwriter has said that he will be totally willing to upgrade to ASICs when and if BFL turns out a working product. The details of the upgrade plan have not yet been decided because of the unpredictability of BFL's products' actual results, no matter what their estimates claim. I hope this helps, and I apologize for not being in the position to gamble on BFL.

I've read your claims the first units all over the forums now. A lot of people ordered and paid before that site was even up.

Care to define "a lot" in this context? I'm genuinely interested since I was under the impression that this was the first method of ordering.

I think its safe to use the words "a lot" when referring to the customers past the 6 week guarantee date. All they needed to do was request a order change.
