Title: Need a loan (will provide collateral)
Post by: iluvbitcoins on December 29, 2014, 02:09:22 PM
This is a bit weird since I'm offering loans here for almost 4 months now

And now I'm asking for a loan :D

Well, let me explain first :D

I just ordered a new credit card, however it arrived with a typo, my name said "Krisijan" instead of "Kristijan"

I requested a new one on the 19th, they said it needs around 10 days to arrive, however it is not here

Most probable case is that it needs 10 works days (won't arrive until the 31st because of Christmas holidays)

I know of a good business investment coming on the 31st, and I need the money then on my SolidTrustPay or Egopay account (but since I know, almost no one uses them, I would even take PayPal! [lender has to be trusted in that case!]) .

I would need around 300$, and will provide over 1BTC as collateral.

Terms I would agree to would be 0.5% a day

Requested : 300$ (SolidTrustPay,Egopay or PayPal)
Collateral: 1BTC
Interest: 0.5% per day
Repayment: As soon as my credit card arrives (shouldn't be long)

Why don't I sell my bitcoins and invest on my own?

Hell no, look at the prices :D

I can provide a fiat based loan in btc (you would need a way to sell Bitcoin and withdraw to your bank).

In the event that the price of Bitcoin falls below 305 you would either need to provide more collateral or the Bitcoin would be used to satisfy the loan.

I can do this later today at 5PM Eastern Time if you still need it.

we can do this today, but I'd like us to start counting the 0.5%/day at the 31st, or I'll wait until then to take it :D

which processor can you use?

only if you can deposit to some of the payment processors?

PayPal can be charged back for up to 180 days after a transaction is sent.

Both parties would be at risk for a similar amount of time

I'd have no problem exchanging real identification and phone numbers with OP as he's done multiple successful transactions to minimize concerns.

I wouldn't want to have the funds held in escrow for 180 days however.  The full term to pay back is fine though.

you can use google voice or pinger to create what is essentially a fake phone number. Identification documents can be stolen/fake/for someone else. Even if the phone number and identification is real there is little you can do with it to recover your money.

You would both risk that either of your identification is used to help get a loan in the future

There is always exploits and workarounds that someone might possibly use, but the inclusion of identification and phone numbers (and it was only a suggestion) will be more assuring to both parties than nothing at all.

Either way, I'm not going to jump through super hoops to get this done but am willing to do it with OP since he has had many successful trades if (s)he so wishes.

To be honest, I'd probably even end up losing money on the exchange rate (I'm not from USA), but I like helping out and being a part of this community.

if he didn't know that, good thing you told him :D

well, anyone can find a fake ID&phone number, but anyways

we can just exchange contact information to keep in touch if something goes wrong

facebook account with the same name as ID would be good though, but let's not get too complicated :D

the rest will be based on trust

I can do by Egopay, since they accept BTC deposits. With paypal I would have to pay lots of paypal taxes and taxes for using dollars and it would be too expensive.

Conditions:

Add the Egopay withdraw fee + BTC-e deposit fee to the total(if you know any other cheaper way to turn EgoPay money into BTC let me know) +any other fee from transferring funds back and forth(so around 5% + transfer fees). Or you can just repay with BTC and save the fees.

Collateral: $300 + fees as described above + 5 days of interests, considering BTC/USD rate as 280.

You send the coins first(to a high trusted escrow)

If prices fall below 280 on Bitstamp collateral will be sold.

This was essentially what I offered to do (although the steps as to how to get the bitcoin into fiat were not this spelled out). I do agree that something like this would be more safe then sending paypal directly to each other)

Thinking more about it I would accept 0.3%/day and BTC/USD rate for collateral as 295.

Let me know if you accept

Why don't you go in BTC-E, sell your bitcoin and then withdraw with Egopay in way to have the same amount of money? It's very easy that asking for a lending.

Probably he thinks BTC price will go to the moon by the next week.

And he would need to make a new deposit to have BTC back, don't know how big are fees for him

Why don't you borrow fiat via btc, sell the borrowed btc via btc-e withdraw to PayPal then send money back to btc-e (or otherwise purchase btc) buy the amount of btc that you borrowed (in terms of dollars) and repay the lender

aaah

I'll just do that, thank for the suggestion..

hope BTC price won't skyrocket in the meantime :D

can you tell me how long do their withdrawals take?

Title: Re: Need a loan (will provide collateral)
Post by: Quickseller on December 31, 2014, 03:38:28 PM
I honestly have no idea how long withdrawals take.

With a fiat loan you borrow a dollar amount worth of Bitcoin. So for example if you borrow $300 worth of Bitcoin when the price is at $300 you would get 1 btc. Then for example when you repay the loan the price of Bitcoin is $200 you would then owe the lender 1.5 btc, conversely if the price of Bitcoin were to rise to $400 you would owe the lender .75 btc (both examples assume 0% interest)

Title: Re: Need a loan (will provide collateral)
Post by: iluvbitcoins on December 31, 2014, 03:44:31 PM
Nah, I mean I'll just deposit my own BTC to btc-e

Sell it, buy fiat, invest it

And hope my credit card gets verified as soon as possible so I can buy back

Title: Re: Need a loan (will provide collateral)
Post by: Quickseller on December 31, 2014, 03:48:17 PM
I thought the point of you wanting to borrow fiat was that you didn't want to sell your Bitcoin.

The only difference between what was suggested and your original request is that reversable payment methods are not being used.

and I'll repay it in bitcoin in equivalent fiat value :)

Okay. Put 1.15 btc in escrow and I will lend you 300$ worth of Bitcoin then you can sell it on btc-e and withdraw to PayPal (check their fees to make sure $300 is enough, if not then I can lend more). In the event that the value of the Bitcoin in escrow falls below $305 you can either put more Bitcoin in escrow or the money in escrow will be released to me to cover the loan.

min. withdrawal for paypal is 500$

though, I can use PerfectMoney, min. is 10$

I'd like if you managed this, and just sent me the money on the account :D

I will lend you $300 worth of bitcoin @ 0.5% per day with 1.15 BTC as collateral or $500 worth of bitcoin @ 0.5% per day with 1.9 BTC as collateral.

I am not interested in owing BTCjam loans as there are far too many scams on there. IDK if it is possible to sell BTCjam notes or not but if it is then you could sell the notes, withdraw the bitcoin and use that as collateral.

Also FYI your OP says you will offer 1 BTC as collateral but you do not have 1 BTC according to your most recent statement

That is true, I can't provide 1.9BTC in collateral
I only have 0.79BTC in my hands, and over 1BTC pending on bitlending, and 0.62BTC pending on btcjam
well, 0.545BTC pending on this forum too :D
there is no way I can gather those coins on time

I have only 1 loan on btcjam (which would be 0.5BTC if the note is sold, it won't be sold on time though)

4 of them on bitlending, which can't be sold

I just traded some of my BTC for USD, on btc-e, it is too late now

I have no time for these negotiations as I think you won't accept these accounts as collateral now :-\

And the investment will be ready soon, I need to get in early

Thanks for your time, though  :)

It looks like your story is changing.

If you were to sell your btcjam note and combine that with your .78 that you have in your wallet then I could lend you $300 worth of bitcoin, although I am not sure that would get you what you are looking for (you could potentially sell the bitcoin I lend you for a trusted member's paypal in the currency exchange section)

I'm saying it won't sell in time

Btcjam notes take days to sell, not minutes/hours

I already issued it for sale yesterday

It won't sell unless I undercut it significally

first of all invested is not the appropiate adjective. Secondly I never made any representation as to how long it would take to get funds out. Third even if I did it is your responsibility to do your own due diligence. Forth can you provide a txid of the .78 that you sent to btc-e

sorry if it came out like I'm attacking you

I'm pretty frustrated (at everything else including myself, not you)

I wanted to get in early on this

just frustrated because I made my debit account long time ago, first the credit card comes with a wrong name, I request a new one, when it finally arrives, the verification can't be done on time, I decide to sell my coins and repurchase them later, then my deposit gets stuck for 3 days!

don't take it personally
