Title: Mining pool gives Reward for 0 Shares..?!! Post by: krnaveen14 on December 29, 2014, 03:23:23 PM I was doing mining in minerpools.com for some fun. Most of the times I can found this in Round option. Why does anyone receiving payouts if they don't have even 1 shares? This is not for just one block. I'm seeing it regularly in there.

Lets say there is a short round where you don't get much hashes, but a longer round where you get relatively more, then you're losing out. PPLNS aims to average this out and minimize variance.
