I fairly believe that Bitcoin is going to start picking up from 1st Jan onwards.
I have strong reasons to believe so.

Do you agree? Why/why not?

What are you strong reasons?
I think we are at the bottom, but don't know when we rise.

Any pattern can say what will happen next time, but of course you can realize something of a good (maybe a good idea about the market, but nothing else).

I will be happy if in January I'll see that price will reach 400-450$  :)

Not sure about the exact date, but I think it will happen in the first 10 days of 2015.

I came to this conclusion when I ignored a few emotions like fear and hope.

Jan 1st? No, many people will cure hangover that day, not buying BTC. But in the middle of the month definitely we will see some bigger moves..

we don't be sure about when the price will rise, but we know it will. So it is good time to buy, isn't it?

Let me begin to say that 1,5 years ago I laughed at people who did technical analysis.
I made a lot of mistakes during that time period, but did not lose much btc because I traded with a very very small portion of my stash.

Now, since 2 or 3 months I got rid of the fear and emotion and saw where we were heading thanks to technical analysis.
Don't get me wrong. We will go up, but we need to go down first.

Well it was about to start since December, no hopes anymore.

i think it will rise because of people's physiology on price pump in new year
or if it won't happen then we will need a solid reason before rally begins
i think 2015 will good for bitcoin and cryptocurrencies

I think this might be the case, because taxes. Some people might sell whatever they have at a loss, near the end of the year, in order to reduce the capital gains tax, then re-buy it in the new year.

But I'm not a lawyer, maybe I don't understand things.

Agree with OP, we're up a bit in the first day of january. Last year was just a big head fake for the Chinese to buy up all of our BTC cheap. It's a totally trap! Now we're only going up

This is what's happening:

1. The bitcoin community as a whole is focused on merchant integration on the POS side alone.

2. These efforts have succeeded, resulting in ever increasing selling pressure. (merchants generally dump the bitcoins daily)

It will be impossible to line up enough individual buyers to compete against this massive seller network. The only solution is to change focus and give some attention to the payroll side of the equation. This will help turn merchants into bitcoin users instead of bitcoin sellers.

Unless we see more attention paid to this side of the scale, expect the price to continue its steady decline.

There is no suggestion to me that this will be the case. We are still following the down -> retrace 50% up -> down pattern. I have a theory a large miner or miners have been selling to crush the price in order to squeeze out lesser heeled miners to the purpose of lowering the difficulty and thereby extending the life-cycle of their current hardware. Furthermore, this would be a brilliant way to increase ROI to mind-boggling numbers if their goal was to rebuy their coins at much lower prices.

300 has too strong of a resistance. Gon go up up up, maybe down a bit, then up up up until the halving.

I wouldn't be surprised to see an almost mirror image to 2014.

I reckon between the middle to the end of the month that things will start to pick up a bit. Christmas and New Year would've dampened things a bit, so the effect of both will ease off around then.

I can't agree more. Unless people start getting income in bitcoins there will be no real benefit of having all of the infrastructure built. On the other hand it must be beneficial for an employer to have this option. I see following reasons why a firm might be interested in paying certain percentage of wage to employees:

• to decrease tax
• innovative company benefit for employees, like giving company shares as part of the salary
• raising prestige among IT population
