Title: Litecoin-qt doesn't start
Post by: ZeitGeist on June 30, 2012, 03:43:55 PM
Hello everyone,
today I wanted to start my litecoin-qt after 3 or 4 months. But it doesn't start anymore. Is there any way to get my litecoins back?
And I don't have a backup of the wallet.dat

This is the error that appears.

your Litecoin-qt is broke, you need to fix it, using pywallet :)

First backup your current wallet.dat. Then delete the old blkindex.dat and everything in the folder. Replace the wallet.dat in the folder and restart litcoin wallet.

Thank you John! It worked  :)
Is there any way to port forward the litecoin client? So that it downloads the blockchain faster?

No problems. I normally would download the blockchain directly from a trusted source if I had to redownload everything. Never used litecoin client so I don't know how to port forward the litecoin client.
