Title: Domain Names [.com .org .net .biz .info] .5 BTC each
Post by: fatigue on July 02, 2012, 01:04:29 AM
Ive decided to start selling a few domain names which have 1 year registration to those who want it as i know it can be a pain for some people to pay $10-$15 for a years registration and this gives you an opportunity to pay in BTCitcoins!

.5 BTC Domain Name Suffixes:
  • .com
  • .org
  • .net
  • .biz
  • .info
  • .name

Please make sure that the domain is available before requesting.

If you are at all interested, send me a pm or post here and i will get right on it!

Note: These may need up to 24 hours to be fully registered.

Sounds interesting! Maybe I write you a pm today or tomorrow.
Where do you register these domains? Is it possible to change the nameserver?
Edit: What do you need for personal information to register a domain?
Is something like "privacy protection" possible?

I've replied to your pm, but for anyone else to see, ill answer here as well.

I do not need any personal information from you, you will recieve full access to changing the DNS, and anything else you can need that is standardly offered. Privacy protection can be purchased for $1 at any time once you have the login details.Additionally I will refer you to some free hosting if you wish.

That doesn't sound good.
Anyone who registers a domain with you can see the registar in the WHOIS information, so to me it seems like there's something about the registar you don't want others to know. Is it GoDaddy?

It is not, i have found a niche and am offering services using that niche. what is so hard to understand about the fact that i would rather make a profit off of it (minuscule as it may be) than give it away?

Edit: honestly i dont mind the fact that it can be seen, but only after you have purchased it in any case.

Those who believe in bitcoin may still buy from you if your premium is low enough.
Besides, like I said, this information will be publicly available after your first customer (if they chose to divulge the registered domain).

It wasn't a slam, I just thought it might be a good idea to act as a Bitcoin middleman for NS since the price is almost the same.

Oh I know it wasn't a slam, I'm literally saying if anyone can find a cheaper price, go for it. I'm trying to help out by offering low prices but if there's lower, go for it 100%

The registries have been doing deals lately with some registrars to provide them for under cost price domains for the first year only (its something like $1 + ICANN fee, but thats to the registrars). They will renew at the normal price next year (+ the price increase every couple months by the registries).

Interesting to know, I'm getting them cheaper than that though  :P

Interesting. Maybe it's because there are very few good domain names left; you pretty much have to come up with something out of thin air and register the mark.

Yeah at this point domains have to be fairly unique.

It seems i didnt clarify as this is the 2nd time ive recieved this question, apologies.

I dont require any personal information, but neither will i get privacy guard for the domain. Its an option to do so once you have purchased the domain if you feel like you want to add your personal information instead of the current information and then protect it.

oh

so it has no privacy guard but anyone that looks up the domain just sees Santa Claus, 1 Xmas Lane, North Pole.

from that point, i'd be interested to hear people's reasoning for changing it to their own name, and purchasing privacy guard.

Other than the fact that you don't legally own the domain.

ICANN (not the domain registrar) requires that all information in your registration be valid.

Remember that ICANN has the power to take a domain from you and give it to somebody else. So providing fake information is just one step closer to lose your domain.

Interesting. I didn't know this, however, I will keep this thread open I suppose for anyone who wants to take the 'risk'. It is filled out with information that is not easily proven false though. Santa Claus didn't register these ;)

do you have access to other TLDs for a higher but still better than elsewhere price?

I'm looking for .xxx seems expensive everywhere.

I used cinfu recently ( http://panel.cinfu.com/aff.php?aff=149 ) 1.29btc for a .org is their best price.

Are you able to register with our own information to keep everything official? Are the domains transferable before they expire? Do you end up having overriding control of our domains/accounts (are you able to steal them if you were evil)?

If you wish I am able to register with your own information, they are transferable if you wish, and each is registered with a new account of which you have full control and once you change the password I can do precisely nothing to gain access.

What rate do they renew for after one year? .5 BTC or will you adjust it depending on the value of bitcoin?

Title: Re: Domain Names [.com .org .net .biz .info] .5 BTC each
Post by: fatigue on July 18, 2012, 06:38:13 PM
I actually will not renew them unfortunately. As with nearly any offer, the first year is cheapest and from there on out it rises in expense. The price of that renewal differs at different registrars however and if you find a cheap one you can transfer the domain there before expiration.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH FATIGUE, EVER FOR ANY REASON!!

Just thought I'd let anyone who's interested know, Fatigue scooped up the bitpantry.com site out from under me before I could even get set up, then offered to sell it to me for 'cheap'.  I caved and bought the damn thing, and now months later, it comes to light that when he registered it to begin with he used false information.  Now, the site is shut down because of the fraudulent information HE used to register the domain out from under us in the first place,  we can't even get the information changed to our correct info and pay for it properly, it's all just gone.

So to anyone considering doing ANY business with Fatigue, especially buying domain names from him, all I can say is DON'T.  He is a dishonest, unscrupulous, opportunistic person and you should run VERY VERY FAST in the opposite direction from him.
