Litecoin has remained unchanged for too long, and brings nothing to the table. Literally the only reason Litecoin is popular is because it got picked up early on. Litecoin will see its demise, and legitimately decent coins such Counterparty, Darkcoin, and BitShares will still shine.

It got down to around $1 USD before taking off last year, so I think only time will tell.
