Title: Blockchain.info Wallet & Vanity Gen
Post by: RandomQ on July 03, 2012, 03:16:58 AM
So i made a couple of vanity addresses imported them into a blockchain wallet no problems/errors
I go to try to send coins into the account from another account in the same wallet and I get an error saying invalid address.
So I send .01 btc to test out the address from another account outside blockchain wallet and the address now listed containing .01.
so I try to send the .01 out of the blockchain wallet and I get invalid address message.

I have 5 other addresses that seem to be working fine after the import.

Is there something special i need to do to validate a vanity addresss to make sure it will work correctly? Did i just get unlucky and generate bad addresses?

the address you posted seems to validate ok for me. My guess is this is a re-occurance of this issue: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=82004.0

Something when you copy and paste addresses from some sources (e.g. Facebook) a zero-width whitespace character will be inserted into the address which make blockchain.info think it's invalid. Since this is no longer an isolated issue I have added a quick fix to strip out any of these characters.

Please let me know if the problem is fixed.
