Title: "Six Strikes" Starts this Weekend
Post by: tgmarks on July 03, 2012, 05:56:28 AM
I just wanted to point out (as I feel this might be good to know for many bitcoiners) that the "six strikes" agreement is up and running.  This is where your ISP agrees to tell on you or discipline you for anything it thinks could be piracy.  This is the perfect opportunity to look at the bitcoin economy as a solution.  BitcoinTorrentz offers a clear way around this.

Read about "six strikes" here: http://yro.slashdot.org/story/12/06/30/035226/dont-forget-six-strikes-starts-this-weekend (http://yro.slashdot.org/story/12/06/30/035226/dont-forget-six-strikes-starts-this-weekend)

I had read the 12th originally but then this article said possibly the 1st.  I just rather not find out the hard way.

Wonder if they will strike people using torrenting for open source apps and open source operating systems.

Edit:
I can see it now, bunch of users striked six times and cut off for downloading mint or ubuntu or something similar.

Pirate some crappy song........ Use tax money to fight piracy.......
Raise bar by using torrents...... More tax money to use high tech equipment to catch pirates.......
Raise bar by using TOR...... More tax money to hire countless spies.....
Raise bar by using stego torrents on TOR........ Raise more tax money....

Why does our country prioritize doing Sony's job while allowing criminals on Wall St. to steal billions?

That And! And! a high high up dood here in Chicago just ran a scam! Get this. The guy ran this little drop your guns off and receive a 100 credit card, no questions asked. Well, the program closed and guess where all the weapons are at now that were dropped off? In the arms of the mexican druglords. Get that? buy the guns for $100 a pop or several hand guns for a $100 bucks, turn around profit maybe a grand a piece sold to the druglords/cartels. The guy, got away with it! He's a another douchebag in the high level govt. It was all over the Chicago news last night. He is just waltzing around freely.
