Title: weird blockchain.info address problem Post by: senectus on July 03, 2012, 12:57:37 PM I'm fairly new to the BTC scene, but have been lurking around the edges for a fair while.
I generated a new account at : https://bitzino.com/blackjack and it gave me a deposit address to use ( 1FVRij1uYQ4E823kwGV55QZQft9QVTJV23 ) but for some reason I cant send to it. If I try I get the following: https://i.imgur.com/eC4gx.png With a mate I have checked it by sending coin to that address via MtGox and it worked. and the owner of the site said: Quote Thanks for reaching out! I just reconfirmed your deposit address with the `validateaddress` bitcoin command, and it said your address is indeed valid. I'm glad you got it working with mtgox, but I'm curious what the deal is with blockchain.info! If you find anything out, please do let us know! Regards, Gabriel bitZino Support Team I've flicked an email to blockchain.info telling them but no response yet. Any idea's? I reposted for you. Title: Re: weird blockchain.info address problem Post by: senectus on July 03, 2012, 01:17:51 PM interesting.. I just generated a deposit address for bitcoingamer.com and Blockchain.info is telling me that is an invalid address as well..
At a guess I'd say BC is broken. Title: Re: weird blockchain.info address problem Post by: Blazr on July 03, 2012, 02:02:48 PM Sometimes when you copy an address, it copies a space at the end as well.
Make sure there are no spaces in the address field. Title: Re: weird blockchain.info address problem Post by: senectus on July 03, 2012, 02:08:17 PM yeah I always double check that, that's not it.
I've found another deposit address that doesn't work from BlockChain.info, StrikeSapphire.com Title: Re: weird blockchain.info address problem Post by: Blazr on July 03, 2012, 02:20:32 PM yeah I always double check that, that's not it. Title: Re: weird blockchain.info address problem Post by: senectus on July 03, 2012, 02:41:56 PM yeah I cant even send coin to my MtGox account ( 1Dppw24tw2eDPepXFganZLJvE6WmPj44vF ) from BlockChain.info
Its all locked up with nowhere to go (except Satoshi dice :-P ) Title: Re: weird blockchain.info address problem Post by: TangibleCryptography on July 03, 2012, 02:42:47 PM I had a customer report the same issue last night. I could find nothing unique or strange about the rejected address. Also puzzling blockchain.info saw the address as valid (zero value) but the wallet saw it as invalid. It is verified valid and using satoshi client worked fine.
Title: Re: weird blockchain.info address problem Post by: piuk on July 03, 2012, 03:00:10 PM I can confirm there was a bug related to address validation, it should have been fixed earlier today. Please clear your browsers cache and refresh to page.
If it still doesn't work a workaround for now is to add the address to your address book then choose the label form the autocomplete dropdown. Ahh yup, resolved. Title: Re: weird blockchain.info address problem Post by: ssaCEO on July 03, 2012, 08:03:08 PM Hm. Anyone still having deposit problems with StrikeSapphire? We're not seeing anything unusual like unconfirmed transactions on our end.
