Title: Free online courses with Udacity.com (Applied Cryptography) Post by: amencon on July 03, 2012, 06:04:25 PM Just found out about Udacity.com and the free online courses they provide. Looks intriguing and I'm thinking about taking a couple of their classes.
What caught my eye was they have a course in applied cryptography. In the syllabus and intro video it talks about covering "digital cash" and how cryptography can be used "to make money from nothing but numbers". I have completed CS101 and I've started many of the others. I have also completed CS101 and tried the other courses at Coursera (they also have a Cryptography class), but in my opinion Udacity is better in pretty much every way.

Late in the crypto course, there is an entire class period (or whatever you want to call it) on bitcoin. http://www.udacity.com/view#Course/cs387/CourseRev/apr2012/Unit/348002/Nugget/430002 This is a really great website if you love to learn... I want to just download the whole thing right now in case it ever goes away.
